Thank you, everybody, for the additional advice RE heat sinks and gear ratios. Sounds like it'll be more helpful than I thought to play with ratios a little. I'll pick up a couple more pinions, not just one, and give 'em a try. Thank you again.

I agree with Ritchie on the gearing, it's all about gearing until the car is fast. I've never geared for temp, I use my finger to tell if the motor is about to blow up is all and keep and eye on temp after runs. I've had some motors be money at 180 degrees (my velocity for example) and some good at 130's (my viper 17.5)
