I will still be shocked if I 'drew the short straw' and a brand new motor is bad, but prior to sending this in I didn't know what to investigate. After I sent it in Richie mentioned it might have to do with the timing on the motor possibly being advanced out of the box and that causing an issue. Since the manual went back with the paperwork I don't know if that is the case or if it is adjustable. Thinking about it now, I suppose I could dig up the manual on the internet, but without the motor in hand I can't do anything anyway.

I will have to say Novak cust service is excellent (so far). I have had a regular email conversation with a guy there. He said make sure I send the package ATTN to him. When I told him I had already sent it in, he said he would look for the package coming from me. He emailed me today to say he got it.

I will keep you updated as to what happens.
SkyPilot already mentioned the issue, but for all the gory details you can look here:
http://www.rctech.net/forum/radio-el...ak-25-5-a.html

or towards the end of this thread: http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...ub-esc-12.html

I am now in the process of filing a claim with Speed Passion to get a newer version of the same ESC. Given I don't know how you would know if you are getting a new version or an older version I think I would just stick with the Novak package to keep things simple if you are planning on running 25.5.

Thanks again Richie!

Yep. I'm sure someone at the track can hook you up. Supposedly the new version brakes like a brick wall, with faster reaction. They also added min throttle and min brake to improve feel.

Does ROAR legalize all year or only has certain quarterly releases of legalized products?

So The SXX V.2 isn't that good for our 13.5 1/12th class? Or is it more just the stock firmware that comes with it? (I.E. When they release more firmwares - more options available).

Was really looking at the SXX V.2 because of the built in 3 to 6v bec and firmware upgradable.

No. I don't want to run a booster nor receiver pack! :P

They are working tirelessly all year round to bring you what you want, whether you like it or not.

The only type of racing this speedo would not be ideal for is spec racing when boost is legal...

And for those interested: I haven't had great luck bottling the homebrew from the keg yet. Samples have been flat out of the bottle. Trying to figure this out, because it tastes pretty good from the keg.

This is correct. If your only running spec non boosted and don't care about the boost then this esc is fine
