Another great time at H30 last night!
Lots of racers, 3 heats of scale spec, mod touring, 2 heats of 1/12 and 17.5 tc...full classes all the way around.
1/12 class is getting deeper and more challenging. All the fast guys returning to RC is going to push our program to the next level!
Til next time dudes...

Tommy B was in the house - how were the results ? Did you put on new tires each time you hit the track ?
#4421

Kidding aside he shook the rust off in a few laps and put down 31 which is right there with a lot of guys, and only one lap off the top 3.
The TCX is a great looking car. TQ was still had by T3's in both classes though.

And I thought the turnout might be a little light after the TZGP
What a great night at Hangar 30! More new faces, some familiar from past programs, and some brand new to RC. Two takeaways from last night:
1. Scale Spec is growing, and when that class, more than any other, grows, we are doing something right. We have experienced racers challenging each other for the win, and we have novices honing their basic skills.
The more we run, the more I become convinced that a core class that allows for integration of skill levels is absolutely essential to the health of our program and the sport overall. The mild power package does not detract from the racing; consistent, high-skill driving is a must at the top end of the Scale Spec field. But, moderate closing speeds make it easier for everyone to manage traffic. Both the passer and the passee have time to react.
2. I think we've nailed the formula for preparing the track. 1/12th was a breeze, grip-wise. I'm going to have start cutting down the tires a little more. That's a good thing, by the way. (Of course, I really thought I was going to be parked in the top three of the standings all season...not! Peter even went so far as to hum the Jaws theme at me after I somehow wound up ahead of him. And sure enough...slice/dice and my tuna was turned to sushi. I guess I'll have to be happy with making the A

Tom ran silvercan - that's not fair.
He shook of the rust - I don't believe it, he said he's been practicing on some RC simulator at work

Next thing you know Maloy will be outta retirement as well as a kid known as the RedRocket.
