Waaay back in the day, 20 months ago, I was running my 12R5 with a no-timing ESC at SIR. Novak SS13.5 motor. It was the same setup I took to the Valentine's NWIC at Timezone in 2009 (interestingly, there was one other 1S 1/12th scaler that weekend: Lynn Cluck!)

Anyway, I'm starting this season with the same 12R5. I'm bringing Pink and Magenta rears, and Magenta and Double Pink fronts. 45 and 43 mm cuts. A little big, but I'm an el cheapo club racer. AMR-12 body.

My Tekin with a Novak Smart Boost is set to Sportsman mode, and I'm strapping in my Novak 13.5 Ballistic motor. Endbell timing on the preset middle mark. With a 78t spur, I'm starting with an 88mm rollout. If memory serves, that was my last rollout with my old ESC before I went to the Tekin, which I've always run with timing. Obviously, I'm prepared to gear up, but I don't think we'll be seeing higher than low to mid 90's. I could be a little conservative, but I don't think I'm way off.

At TZ2, my car was pretty quick. It ran well with the 4-cell 13.5's, even weighed down to 796g. I think I took 2nd in the B right behind Paul Leask.

I'm sure I won't be the fastest by the end of the night, but I hope that helps a few people.
Why dont you ask the racers what they think? Maybe there is enough interest and people to come set up the track. more saturdays= $$$ for the club

Default min ride height

The minimum ride height needs to be added to the rules page for all classes.

Thumbs up

Donny! You need a job that lets you stay out late, man. Miss racing with you.

Racers want Wednesday Friday and Saturday but I think Todd has got us the most days that we can fit on the schedule without burning out the club. By the end of the Saturday series turn out was definitely lower, I think a couple of Fridays were also tried and they tanked.

There is also too much other **** going on the other Saturdays. NORA, NWIC. Enough of the club will be doing things on these off days it will leave like 5 of us racing on those days.

Default 12th scale tires

Hey Maybell, are you going to have 12th scale tires for sale at the first race? Looking at the pile of tires I have are lots of Parma magenta's and a handfull of violets, for rears I have some Parma blacks and grays?? guessing I'm going to need to pick up some rear tires-whichever one's you'd recommend

Like Wes said, Fridays were tried last season and the idea tanked. It was my great idea and I pushed hard for it.

I think we came to the realization Wed turnout is consistently better. Fridays seem to be wife/kids/family/party time.

Yes! I will be bringing the tub fula goodies...I will talk to everyone on Wednedsday about any different tires that we should carry this season.

Wednesday the tub will have Double Pink and Pink type stuff...I will order yellow compounds and others next week after I have a better idea of what guys are running.

Also, if anyone has any special requests for Wednesday, post on this thread and if we have it I will bring it...

Not trying to stir the pot here, but just a couple of ideas. First off I think we should wait and see if any more weekend dates are even available. That would denote whether we should continue discussion or not. Secondly I think Nora has two saturdays a month scheduled, which is abit farther for you southenders I know. Than the NWIC has a weekend a month booked up. We should also do a legimate to see vote on how many people would commit to setup and race, or even practice. I would love to have a full day just to test and tune, cause I am way too slow at it still.

Just some food for thought. Cause unfotunatly I am with the crowd that just can't do wednsdays. At least full event. I still like to show up and run a few laps but can never stay till the mains.

Its also true that Fridays can be tougher to get on the schedule, due to weekend rentals, and the rate can be 1000. for the night, rather than the 10/hour. So a friday race could cost 1000. The parks people know that we can't afford that, and do try to work it out for us when available, but if there is customer at the 1000. rate renting the facility for a Saturday event, they often are allowed to set-up the evening before, which would be the Friday we might want. Anyway, it is not as clear cut to schedule Friday races. Saturdays are even more problematic.

We run into the same thing here. The "cost" for getting a VERY favorable rate at the Shrine means that if there's anyone who's willing to pay the full rate then we get bumped. Usually happens once a year, and the facilities manager does everything he can to get us as much notice as possible.

Ah the trials of a grass-roots club.
