Seattle RC Racers/Hangar 30
GT 12 Specs
Last season we piloted a GT 12 class at Hangar 30. Participation was strong, and we tried out a few iterations of specs before settling on a solid program. Now we are ready to publish a spec. The Rose City Scale Racers threw in to test as well and arrived at the same conclusions. They also saw great participation.
GT12 Specs
Chassis: 1/12 pan car
Bodies: 1/12 GT-style only
Tires: SJT rubber
Batteries: 1S lipo
ESC: Stock zero-timing (blinky) profiles only
Motor: Hobbywing XERUN Justock 3650 SD G2.1 Sensored Brushless (17.5T) PN: HWA30408011
Fixed Gearing: 72 spur/42 pinion (81 spur/45 pinion on CRC cars)
Rear axles: Diffs (ball or gear) or spools allowed
This is a great class, the one one we've been waiting to materialize for years. It's finally here!
It's a full-on race class, but similar to the iterations of scale spec touring, it accommodates a broad range of abilities. Plus, it's a great option for the budget racers, or those who just want to race a high quality program on a reasonably simple platform.

So fun to race...basically the old scale spec speed in a 12th scale platform.
Tires should last a whole season...barring damage of course haha.

There's an error in that gearing above...
Should be 72/40 and 81/45.
Sorry about that.

GT12 was an absolute blast last season! With the rubber tires and a diff you actually have to lift in the corners unlike their foam tire counter part. With the tires providing less grip and the cars being slower it allows for a very broad setup window. You don't need a flagship car to be competitive by any stretch. Best part is no tire glue and the tires last ages! This is a great entry for anyone wanting to get started in onroad.
The racing is very enjoyable as the cars are easier to drive. At the front of the pack things were so close between Jesse coach and myself. One qualifier stands out when Jesse and I were trading hot laps and were separated by .1 of a second on the clock.
Thank you to the hangar team on putting this class together! Can't wait to get back onto the carpet 👊

For those wanting to get into GT12, I still have a few of the Hobbywing motor in stock up at Hobbytown Everett.

Working to bring back to life my TC Stock program this year. Is 21.5 motor, 1350 grams, and Jaco Blue all correct

before you buy a bunch of stuff, last year no one ran that class,
but, usgt is basically the same with different tires and body style and there will be a class for that.

question about the gt12, is the 72/42 important or just the 1.8 final?

On this class does it matter what 25.5 motor I buy?
