Kick off in 24hrs!!!

Unlike the rest of the guys/gal that have important work to do this morning, I've scheduled mine with nothing more then late coffee! We had a number of firsts on our '19-20, 11yr, Hangar 30 season opener. We walked into the building to find the floor filthy. It's happened before, but not to this degree. Once that was problem solved, assembly ensued. Todd came up with the idea of instead of the tape gun, to simply hoover drop the tape. It took longer to apply, but it did not get the plow wrinkles the tape gun created. We went with a non-toxic tire sauce for the first time ever. At the end of the evening debrief, we found that everyone liked it. I personally felt it offered a little more steering then SXT, lasted the entire run, did not gum up, did not grab up a bunch of crud. My only gripe is it ran off my tires some and onto my pit board. If it's truly not harmful, this sauce is a winner! I forgot the name, think it was TDK. Again, it was a SRCR supplied product for the racers to use. We offered pizza to the hungry crowd compliments of the track! Another first! And to make it super interesting on night #1, Kyle in his scrambles, left the PA System neatly tucked in his garage. We got invaded from Canada again. I think they got wind that pizza was gonna be served. A remarkable effort on a Wed night on their part! We had FWD class form. They were tossed into the SS/USGT class. They conformed to the same rules minus a minimum weight rule and must run a hatchback. Most of the FWD cars filtered towards the front of the field, so it will be interesting if we need to sit down to the Round Table for some rule adjustments. They looked GOOD! The computer had a number of issues yet Kyle and Todd kept the train a rollin'. Unfortunately the live feed had to be shut down. Not that you guys care, but I got to race F-1 on carpet for the first time, and I actually really enjoyed it. It's not easy making quick decision passing with open wheels and making it right (sorry Russ, I claim new guy, I owe you one, probably two). Then we had Raffle Start for the Mini's! There were a number of scenarios, but what was drawn from the hat this night was: start in reverse direction a 1/2 lap around a plow disc and then resume normal. Think cowboys on horses barrel racing, but with Mini's, lots Mini's. Then we had a new Park Assistant lady that did not know the capacity of our tear down. That resulted in a hard shut down of the program at 10:17p leaving 3 mains unrun. With some sweat and hustle, we were out by 10:31p. I would say we were business as usual, but not last night. We rose up and conquered, but I know we have never, in our existence, had to leave mains unrun. We won't let that happen again. Kyle and Todd are working to post results here since the live feed flopped. It was great to see everyone out on a Wed night at the start of another exciting season. Todd is also trying to get the website back online while managing household and life....that stuff is above my pay grade, so I'll be patient.
SSI has opened a new YouTube channel. I'd suggest subscribing before it's banned.
Mike Shea...PM or contact me, I may have that Orca controller box you need.
Kathy was happy to see us at the Broiler. The way she busts on Jesse and Todd are priceless.
Feels good to be back!

A quick note on last night's racing.
We had strong Wednesday night attendance with full heats in the core classes. We had some visitors from Canada who contributed numbers, but we had solid locals, too. We'll see how it holds up, but it was definitely a good start.
The downside was that we had to drop the last two mains: F1 and 25.5 USGT. In 11 years, this is the first time it's happened. From me to you, it will be another 11 before it happens again. We'll tighten it up.
Pizza was great. So, when it came time to tear down, everyone was there and had calories to burn. I'll call it a record teardown at something like 11 minutes. Seriously, it was a sight. And talking with our staffer after, she simply had no idea. At 10:10, she thought she was going to be there until 11:30. Now she knows. But, so do we.
The tire sauce is a great move. I couldn't be happier about it. It works on rubber and foam, and it is non-toxic. The MSDS are available online if anyone wants to look. TDK is the brand. We're going to continue with it.
The website is back up, the schedule is up to date, and the front page is current.
Results attached.

The RC Scoring Pro data is now online as well, I had to list it as a race on Friday, 9/27 to get it to work. Here's the link: https://rcscoringpro.com/events/10365/

First time at the hangar this past week. It was a blast. I loved the energy. Everyone was welcoming and fun was the main goal. Looking forward to the rest of the season!

Ok, I'm starting this early, because I'm impatient. Who's in for Stock TC to join George and I this Wednesday?
3 makes a class!
