Hey Franko!
100 mm will do you.
That's a 58t pinion, 76 spur, and 42mm tire, give-take a bit.

How to multitask when you have young kids. Everyone is a winner....just as long as my wife doesn't come home to see the dining table turned into a work bench.

Thanks a ton to Bodine for letting me wheel the 1/12 loaner! It's dialed.
Thanks to Stuart and Brian for tangling with each other, so I could sneak past for the win. :P
Thanks, Xray T4'14 mod TC, for completely sucking. Oh wait, that's my fault. T_T

Magnuson CC 2014/2015 March 21
Our penultimate race night of the 2014/2015 season was an interesting affair for those who gathered at the community center in Magnuson Park. We were 46 entrires strong, but with our renewal of the 4pm race start, I was tempted to go 3 quals and a main. But, sometimes it is good to have breaks between rounds, and the pace throughout the night reflected the good results of added time on the bench. Every track record was reset, but an air of intrigue was manifested in the fact that all but one of the TQ'ing racers was bested in the main. Veeeery interesting...
Dick Reece has been steadily ratcheting up the pressure on Jacob in Scale Spec since the new year turned. Last night, despite Jacob's TQ effort in qualifying, Dick held the high hand come the main and called Jacob's bluff. Too many bobbles by the usually rapid Reyes cost him a confirming victory. That, and Dick has been doing his work, dialing in his car, and was steady and gave no tells when the sixth minute tone made its irrevocable call. All cards on the table, face up, and it was Dick holding aces.
Stuart got real in Stock 1/12th and laid down a TQ and notched his first track record. This Stuart vs. Bodine thing isn't some little novelty act between them. Both of them are keeping score, and neither is offering any gimme's. The ECC promises fireworks. But, again, come the main, the duel between these two was up ended by another Bodine Arrive-n-Drive special. This time, it was Mike Ruete who slipped past as Brian and Stuart were working through the results of a nose to tail tangle. While both Brian and Stuart were doing the "After you-no after you-but I insist..." Mike zipped past and held to the end. A lesson for both? Or just one of those things that happens? It's hard to keep a racer from attacking. As Senna famously said, "If you don't go for a gap that exists, you are not a racer." But, is his truly the last word on the matter? I wonder. As great as he was, he was far from perfect. The all-time fastest lapper was not the all-time greatest champion. He might have benefitted from a bit more of his arch-rival's cold-blooded calculation. If Prost had been Bodine, he might have held it at a few 1/10ths, coolly calculating the odds of the youngster making a bobble. Or, had Prost been Stuart, he might have considered the merits of letting Bodine run first through traffic and take the brunt of the risk--hanging back a few 1/10ths, waiting for the tangle. "After you, Brian. No, I couldn't possibly, Stuart, after you. But truly, age before beauty. Not at all, your youth and good manners become you, lead away..." Or perhaps that's silly. Dominate! Crush! Win! I think they will both look back on these battles with great satisfaction.
Kody bumped his track record mark up with a commanding second round TQ run. After Jake showed his quality by nailing down the first round, Kody did his thing on the bench and what had frankly been a bit of a zoo in round one suddenly snapped into form. However, the TQ jinx struck again, this time to the benefit of Dave Ehrlich who kept a cool head for the duration of a hectic main, bounced back from his own troubles, and took advantage of Kody's for the win. This Mod TC thing promises to be another special affair for the ECC. I can't wait to see these guys go after each other. Who is the best this year? We'll find out...
In Stock Touring, Malkinson displayed admirable cool and, despite handing over the lead momentarily, was our only TQ of the night to come good in his main. It was, when done, a straightforward domination, but there was a moment when it seemed in jeopardy. Nevertheless, well done, Mike. You crossed fingers and blocked the hex.
Korey was back with a frighteningly fast Mod 1/12th ride. So was Ehrlich. At the end of round two they were separated by mere 1/10ths after 8 minutes, with Korey taking the TQ by half a length. However, a mid-race tangle with Stuart snagged battery tape which proceeded to wrap around his tire and snarl his whole rig. Ugh. An unfortunate mishap during what was shaping up to be a good run and a possible confirmation. We'll never know. What we do know is that Dave took home his second victory of the night, making him the fastest all-around onroad racer in the northwest, at least until we meet again.
We race at the hangar this Wednesday. Come join us in our ancestral gladiator pit, it's fun.
The Emerald City Classic is on April 4. Pick your class. One long day, one champ at the end, no excuses. Who's the best? We'll find out.
