my 68 camaro was pretty easy and it looks like a racing paint job. meatball and all.
As much as it sounds cool to require a "racing" paint job.. why stop there? USVTA requires a painted driver... and headlights don't forget those!
(does anyone know where the sarcasm font is?)

I would imagine the whole point of trying to toss the zl1, was to diversify the field.. It is a better handling body. More people are turning to it, so rather then end up with a entire field of ZL1 just ban it. Similar to when Tamiya changed their GT3 rules to exclude the Nissan NSX body. Its just a better body than the other options, so you had a 10 car main of silvercan powered Nissan NSX.. But alas it didn't happen that way. the body is still legit. as far as the spoiler goes.. I have not felt the need for more rear down force..
granted I have only tried the 350z, Javlin, Firebird, Nsx, Corolla..

well we do not run usvta rules. we run ROAR rules. but it would be nice to have everybody run a scale racing paint job.

close enough to a sarcasm font. lol.

I think thats why alot of guys prefer the gt bodies over the vta bodies. the down force really helps. Either let the vta guys run a clear non painted wing or eliminate the wings all together. or limit the size of wing. say an add on lexan spoiler (ala nascar type straight spoiler) that can be glued on via shoogoo or double sided tape. no more than say 3/8" tall entire width? just a thought.

I think a clear gt style wing would be plenty. or let the vta guys run anywhere from 3/8" to 1/2" add on wing for that little extra down force lost due to a vintage body. just a suggestion. thoughts?

yeah im full of strange ideas. go figure. lol.
Scale spec , not vta nor usgt. This is prolly the reason why I still run this class. I love the rivalry between gt vs vta vs american muscle look and import. So xpattern vs "pillows". Don't matter what u really use... I have learned that it's purely setup.... The A main in SS is scattered with different preferences and fast guys are fast because of their driving level and setup. Some people rocked old hpi bodies, and are fast....

"Scale" is prolly the reason why this class is sooo popular to where even mod drivers race in it.

Well, I for one decided to give up the ZL1 and go back to my roots. Partially to comply with Todd's preference, partially to be "different", and partially to avoid the nightmare of body tucks that is the Protoform. Single color paint job, but I think you'll all approve of the final product. Maybe I'll take a picture

I guess its all up to the individual to make ones car look "scale" appearing. whether it being the use of clever sticker placement or paint work. its all up to you.

We're not talkin about the race, we're talking about paint. Paint? We're talking about paint...

I like mine the cheapest solid color money can buy. With no backing and one sticker:
.l.. ..l.

Oh and with a huge wing on the back of my zl1. Cut just barely legal
