Race for Grace 2008 CdLS Charity Event @ SIR - May 10th
The 3rd Annual Race for Grace is coming up May 10th at Seattle Indoor Raceway. If your unfamiliar with this race, it's a charity event where the proceeds are given to the Cornelia de Lange Syndrome (CdLS) American foundation. Which helps with support and research for families and people afflicted with CdLS.
The event itself usually has a number of silent auctions for donated items that racers can bid on which again, are given towards CdLS. It also usually has a large number of backing sponsors whose products will be given out via racer lotteries during the day. Overall, a great amount of fun, with a great purpose!
Cost:
Race fee will be $15.00 per class, and again given to CdLS Foundation.
About SIR:
The Seattle Indoor Raceway has a indoor track which most likely will still be carpeted during this race.
Seattle Indoor Raceway
7633 South 180th Street
Kent, WA 98032
Phone: 425.251.6119
Classes:
Classes will only require 3 or more people to run, so whatever you choose/want to run, if you can get two of your buds with you, your set. In fact, please feel free to use this thread in part to help coordinate the classes.
Sponsors:
If you or your company want to donate items towards the silent auctions, or for racer handouts, please feel free to contact the staff at SIR. Any and all will be appreciated and noted!

To the top.
I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this with its good cause.

Is this going to be a all day Saturday event, or Saturday evening? What time does it start?
I guess the typical touring class is what I'll run...what do most people run at SIR; Rubber 10.5? I am in for whatever you guys want to run, I have a rubber car setup and I can put any motor in it..just kinda need to know a head of time as I don't own anything but a 10.5BL and 19T Brushed so I might have to buy a 13.5 or 17.5 if thats what you guys are running.
So +1 Sedan Rubber.

Its an all day event Desolas. I can't remember from last year when the doors opened and the racing started. I will try to find out and post if someone else doesn't in the meantime. Last year, we got through all the classes by around 7ish.
So what we have so far (in this thread at least) is:
-1/10th Sedan Rubber 13.5 or 10.5 (Both?)
We need people to speak out about:
-Tamiya Minis?
-Silver Can?
-Trans Am? (Perfect way to get out of towners to see the class first hand)
-1/12th
-Mod Foam Sedan
-Pro 10
I'm kinda organizing the micro classes, we should have enough for
-1/18th Outlaw Sedan (Brushless/Lipo)
-1/18th -1/16th Dirt Things (Brushless/Lipo) (Will have removable obstacles/jumps)

Based on last year's event and the current popular classes at SIR and locally, I'd say the following for sure:
GT3 Spec (SIR formula)
GT3 Comp
13.5 Rubber Sedan
and/or
10.5 Rubber Sedan
(Just one of these? Would a single larger field be better? How about 5 min. quals and an eight car, eight minute bump-up A Main?)
1/18th Scale
Trans-Am (SIR formula?)
Also consider:
Stock 1/12th
Mini
10.5/19t Foam Sedan
Pro-10 (New School 200mm)
Dirt Thingy/Monster Trucks (Let's see some TXT's!)

The track will open at 9:00AM and the racing will begin at 12:00PM on May 10th.
SIR should have a pdf on their site soon if you want to mail in your checks for entry.
This wont reflect the actual numbers of course, but again, can help organize whom for what. Please feel free to speak up.
So using Putawaywets layout:

Hi nordheim,
I guess I know I speak for a few. Can we send that in with a check or money order if we aren't or can't be to the track before then? Especially for unlisted classes as so you know they are happening before the day of the event?
If so, do we address it to SIR, or the CdLS in some way.
