The organizers of the Northwest Indoor Championships (NWIC) determine which tires and traction compound will be used for all NWIC races. Two years ago, it was Takeoff 27's and Paragon.

Last year, Sorex 28's were selected because of the rims were more durable than the Takeoffs. They also switched to Jack the Gripper because some people objected to the smell of Paragon.

So Buford, why do the Sorex 28's suck? You're the only person I've heard complain about them. If you really want to lobby for the Takeoff's, plead your case to the track owners forum.

well Roger um have you ever compared sorex 24r's to sorex 28r's?
when we used to race at rc plus with them (before we tried the spec thing) they were the tire of choice. i was simply asking them if they stocked them.

Im sorry if i offended you in any way, i was just stating my opinion. and just because certain tracks and certain race series follow certain criteria means we all have to follow like sheep?

I'm sure they have the Sorex 24r's. I bought the Sorex 28r's because Russ recommended them for the track at BD Raceway. I have no idea which tires are the best to run on carpet because I am new to onroad & carpet racing.

I wasn't offended by your opinion. I've never tried Sorex 24's because I never raced in an event that allowed them. I was only explaining why we're running Sorex 28's for club and NWIC racing which is because it has been specified as the ONLY tire that can be used for the stock rubber class.

On the other hand, in stock foam one can choose any brand of tire and compound. Personally, I like "class" racing, especially in stock rubber, where certain restraints are placed on the competitors to help level the playing field.

Again, no offense taken, Brian!

Now that we have that cleared up, maybe we can return to more bovine subject matter.

Grand Opening is this sat 9am -9pm.

Doug and I (Ron) are coming up to check out the place! I think mark and Jordan Tilley and Ivan doney and his crew well be up to race along with Jason matlock and a few others to race. Doug and I well be there around 12-1pm, we are taking the long way there thought Detroit to test our new suspension on our Bikes!

I think it is a great thing to have a new carpet track in the NW and look forward to racing next season when I start up again( I take the summer off of racing to do my honey do's) We plan to work out a series with BDR and RCP for the winter series And with TZ2 also can't forget about the big big track just over the border in Washington opening soon also!

See you all on Sat!
