So as of this moment, and nothing is in stone till they take our money, May and July are looking good. In May we would be in the South lot (where we were supposed to be in 2020), and in July we would be in the North lot (where we were in 2019). June has issues and I will be trying to work through them by perhaps changing weekends or from Sunday to Saturdays, maybe even trying another spot. We will see. Anyway, keep those fingers crossed.

Got an email confirming the May dates from the district this morning, so assuming the rain stays away, and nothing is weird when they bill us, we are a go on Sunday.

Also just to be clear, you will need to wear a mask. And yes we know some of you folks hate it, and we get it, but there are rules and guidelines to follow for group events and for the property that we are using. If you have an issue with it, feel free to stay home, there is no room to argue about it and no reason to cause grief over it. Just remember you are protecting others and getting back to some level of fun in our hobby.

We will post some official rules in the next day or two. They should be similar to what Seattle RC posted the other day.

Hope to see a bunch of you on Sunday. Just a reminder, it's been a long time, so bring a lot of patience and plan for things to not run smoothly.

Racing is starting up this weekend for both Seattle RC and Galaxy RC Racers!

Show up on Sunday between 8:30 - 9am to help set up! We're all a bit rusty so any/all help we can get will be welcome.

Considering the reason we're all so rusty, it's prudent to take this opportunity to lay out the health safety rules for Galaxy RC Racers' events. We understand that the CDC updated their guidance today on mask usage for gatherings that take place outdoors, but we haven't heard anything from the state level or school district, both of which get priority over CDC guidance. These rules will change as we continue to make headway with the pandemic but not until state and school district guidance allows for it. We've done our best to make these as unobtrusive as possible and, fortunately, have the space to allow folks who are pitting alone (or with members of their household) to not wear your masks in pit so long as you have at last 6' of separation from the next pit/tent. We consider this distance to be between whatever the closest points are (corner of your tent/table) rather than just the distance between your bodies. We not only want to have safe pit areas but also make sure there's room for folks to navigate through/between pits safely.

Other than that, mask usage will be required the rest of the time. Check out the attached pdf with our rules and feel free to ask clarifying questions.

See updated rules in post #67

We look forward to racing with you again!

As a reminder, here are the currently approved race days that we expect to run, though we may be able to find more later in the season:
Sunday, May 2nd - South Lot, near Tennis Courts & 216th St
Sunday, May 16th - South Lot, near Tennis Courts & 216th St
Sunday, May 30th - South Lot, near Tennis Courts & 216th St
Sunday, July 11th - North Lot, near 212th St
Sunday, July 25th - North Lot, near 212th St
Sunday, August 1st - South Lot, near Tennis Courts & 216th St

Outside of the TCS race day we follow the same rules as Seattle RC and ROAR. So if you are trying to prep for TCS, run TCS rules, of you ran at Seattle yesterday then you should be just fine. If I have a chance and can get in front of a different device before load up starts I will try to post something more specific

Hi all,

Regarding the COVID rules, there is a small change. The school district finally provided us with their specific rules and unfortunately they are requiring that everyone wear their masks as long as they are on school property. So the freedom to remove our masks while pitting has been removed. Please see attached for the updated COVID rules.

Hopefully the state and school district will modify their rules to come in line with the CDC guidance and allow us to remove masks at our pits.

Hi everyone!

Just a reminder that there IS a race scheduled for this Sunday. I know it's at the same time as the Indy 500, but you can always record that and watch it later.

We'll aim to be at the lot between 8:30 - 9 to set up. It's a lot of work so if you can come and help that would be greatly appreciated!

Similarly, tear down is a drag after a long day of racing, so please stay for an extra 20-30 minutes and help us get all packed up to make the process smoother.

We don't have any June race days, unfortunately, so there will be a break for GRCR. Seattle RC does have races for the month, so there is the option to race down in SeaTac.

We did also hear back from Tamiya with promising news for a TCS race. We don't have any details yet, but we'll make sure to keep everyone apprised of the situation as it evolves.

See you Sunday!

In the time since my last post, we got confirmation that, in collaboration with Broadway Hobbies, we will be hosting the Pacific Northwest Tamiya Championship Series race on July 25th!

Registration is open now: TCS Race #268 ? Broadway Hobbies ? Washington

5/30 race is the South lot, where we have been all month. The move to the North lot will be for July and includes TCS. August is still up in the air on which lot we will be in.

We have some updated race days for the end of the season!

7/11 - Normal Club Races (North Lot by 212th)
7/25 - TCS (must register - see attached for the flyer) (North Lot by 212th)
8/1 - Mini Enduro (6 team limit - see attached for the flyer... Registration information and rules to come) (South Lot by Tennis Courts?)
8/8 - Club Races (South Lot by Tennis Courts?)
8/22 - Club Races (South Lot by Tennis Courts?)

Setup starts at 9am every race day

9/5 is still under review by the school district, but there's a good chance we'll get it and be racing into early September.
