Default 2017-2018 PDX RC Underground's ROCKSTAR Winter Off-Road Series!

Portland's most successful off-road series is back, this time at PDX RC Underground starting December 1st!

History:
The ROCKSTAR Short Course Series was first started by Kyosho America/Team Orion USA Team Manager Joe Pillars, ROCKSTAR's Joey Lancaster, & Portland R/C Raceway's Owner Jim Dunlap 8 years ago. This Friday night series brought out many of the best Short Course racers from all around the North-West which produced countless epic battles and great times!

After a 1-year break, Yokomo USA/Team Orion USA Team Manager Joe Pillars & PDX RC Underground's Owner Kevin Focht have brought back this fun and competitive series to Portland.

The series will once again be held on Friday nights with the track open from 3:00pm to 6:45pm for practice with racing starting right at 7:00pm. The race entry will be $15.00 per class. This will be a 5 race series with 2 throw outs. 1 bonus point will be awarded for TQ.

We will run 2 5-Minute Qualifiers, 5-Minute Bump-Ups and Single 5-Minute A-Mains to help finish at a decent hour. We will resort after the first round of qualifying to allow for better racing. The top 6 drivers after qualifying is complete will go straight into the A-Main with a 2 car bump in the lower mains.

Series Classes:
1. Novice
2. Stock Buggy (17.5 Motor / 0-Timing & 0-Boost Mode)
3. Pro Stock Buggy (17.5 Motor / 0-Timing & 0-Boost Mode)
4. 13.5 Stadium Truck
5. 13.5 4wd Buggy
6. 2wd Modified Buggy
7. Stock SC (17.5 Motor / 0-Timing & 0-Boost Mode)

Series Race Schedule:
1 - December 1st
2 - December 29th
3 - January 26th
4 - February 16th
5 - March 23rd - Awards Banquet Race

Series Points System:
1 Point for TQ
1st Place - 50
2nd Place - 49
3rd Place - 48
4th Place - 47
5th Place - 46 and so on…

Awards will be given out to the Top 10 in each class at the end of the Series. You must race at least 3 races to qualify for the overall awards!

How was 49 entries with your space available? Just curious since I haven't seen the space.

In general Prostock is just the really fast stock guys. It is setup to keep us sandbaggers out of the regular stock class. People like myself, Shawn Stuart, Todd Powell, Shaun Brown, etc. etc. that dabble with mod but love stock should be in Prostock.

As far as rules it varies a bit between tracks and series. It is either just your normal 17.5 blinky or it is 13.5 blinky/17.5 open timing. Most times I have raced it everyone just still runs 17.5 blinky even it is open to timing.

Sweet, thanks! The only reason I asked is because I'm used to seeing prostock run as a 13.5 class (or 19t back in the day), noticed it's listed as 17.5 in this case. Not sure where I'll fall at this point, but want to make sure I'm not showing up with the wrong motor and ESC. Currently run all blinky-only esc's.

You're thinking of "Super Stock".
