Default Carpet On-Road in NYC-New Rochelle, NY

hi guys just want to throw this out there to give heads up for this coming Carpet On-Road season.

A new Carpet track will be opening in New Rochelle, NY. For those not familiar with New Rochelle it is roughly a 30 min. drive from Nassau County LI, 20 min. outside of NYC and NJ and 5 min. from the Ct. border (with no traffic lol). Location is just a few blocks off i95 at exit 16.

This is a central location so hopefully this can attract racers from all different areas.

Some details,
-will only be open and race on Sundays (may add fridays if landlord permits and turnouts are ok, but unlikely)
-racing will be seasonal (October through March)
-roughly 50x100 ozite on plywood subfloor
-looking to race all classes of on road -TC, 1/12th, F1, Wgt and some form of spec class
-Will not be full service hobby shop/track, however i am looking into having some sort of outside hobby shop involvement for parts and supplies support at the track
-will be laid back easy going atmosphere (its all about fun at the end of the day :-)

build up should start around mid Sept (not a ton to do) and looking to open for first race early October.

build up will consist of taking down a sheetrock wall, hanging about 20 additional lights over the track, building the sub floor for the track, and building a drivers stand. This track will only have the basics but the basics is all we need.

Hopefully this can help resurrect Rc racing in the NYC area, it would be great to see!

Thats about it, thank you everyone for taking the time to read this.

Great news! I was mad at myself for never making it up to 360. Now I have a chance to make up for that! Best of luck to you guys up there, hope to put some laps in up there soon!

This is great but why New Rochelle?

New Rochelle is easy to get to from LI, Upstate and Connecticut. And no toll for the guys from the north. If you've ever gone over the Throgs Neck Bridge and looked to the north-northeast, you'll see 2 tall buildings. That's New Rochelle!

Every Sunday, or will there be a schedule?

Fantastic news, Donny. Being a regular at Horsham, I know how much you supported the program there. Now, we will have to return the favor. Any idea of what kind of miles/time you might gestimate from Horsham????

Why don't we endurance race more often?
