Default 2014 Beach schedule

Hey guys the schedule will be up as soon as I can. As with all the past years I have to wait for the Parks Dept. to finalize their schedule first. then I can fill in dates. We are not allowed to have races during their back to the beach celebrations.

Also we want to try and start a GT3 class. (Tamiya rules with using Sweep Tires). That will give us one more FUN class to run.

The classes are: Mini (M-chassis) Using Tamiya rules with Radials ONLY!
TT01 Brownies rules! Call me at the shop if you need info.
VTA VTA rules.
GT3 Using Tamiya rules using Sweep tires. (Same as our TT01)
I will also run other classes if at least 4 entries show up.

To answer your question.

Hey john. I have a ta06 pro in the closet would that work for GT3? I just don't want it sitting around. Don't want to have to buy anything else if I have something.

From Tamiya's website:

GT-3 Rules

The Tamiya GT-3 class is for novice to intermediate skill level racers only. GT-3 is the perfect stepping stone for drivers coming from GT Spec to experience the next level in racing. Advanced and Expert drivers are not allowed in this class. It’s the host sites discretion to police over qualified racers from the class.

Recommended Skill Level: Intermediate

1. Legal chassis platforms: Any TUB-type chassis XV-01, TT-01, TT-02, TA-01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, FF-03 and TB-03, TB-04 variants. Item 84314 FF-03 Chassis Upgrade Set is allowed.
2. Motor rules: The GT-3 class may use either the Tamiya 540-J Johnson motor (item 53689), RS-540 Torque-Tuned Motor (item 54358) or any ROAR legal and approved 21.5 brushless motor. See general rules from the ROAR list link and exceptions. Note: ROAR legal Tuned rotors are allowed as is physical timing advancement. Note: see general rules above for specifics.
3. No BOOST ESC (Electronic Speed Control) rules: Any ROAR legal and approved ESC may be used capable of “Blinky-Mode”. These ESC’s must not use electronic timing (boost). See General Rules for ROAR approved “blinky” ESC list.
4. Timing rules: Physical motor timing is allowed. Caution: advancing the motor timing beyond the manufactures recommendations is at your own risk.
5. All 4WD GT-3 cars must meet a minimum weight of 1450 Grams. No weight minimum for FWD GT-3 Cars.
6. Any Tamiya 190 mm GT or Sports car body is permitted with the exception of the VERMAC 350R GT (AKA EBBRO 350R or Willcom/Shaken 408R) and any Honda NSX variant.
7. Spec tires: Pre-mount B3 tires must be used on asphalt tracks (item 1015). Any Tamiya tire and wheel may be used for indoor carpet tracks. Note: Tamiya’s C-compound tires are best for carpet. (item 54256)

Thank you cartix. I saw that and yes I know under TCS guide lines it would be allowed but I know that at the beach john would sometimes like to limit chassis type. But thank you brother and I hope to see you at midland this summer.

isn't GT3 basically 21.5 touring car?... can we open it up to any 4wd car running sweeps/blinky/21.5/GT sports car body?

If john goes that route I'll be able to bring my newly acquired awesomatix but I think using a tamiya chassis would just get a lot of people ready for TCS in July.

I like the GT3 idea. I like that we can use a silver can. Besides a few beach races and TCS races there wouldn't be much need for owning a 21.5 motor, so I really don't want to buy one if I don't have to. Good way to get the TA04 back in action! Great idea.

I'm putting most of my focus on 17.5 touring and 2WD buggy because between Critters, horsham, Jackson and Long Island raceway you can run every week.

Can't wait to see everyone at a race soon!

Leave that TT-10 Alone it does not sound like GT3 is replacing TT-01, break out a TA05 or Ta06!

At the last TCS race I ran my beach TT01 with oil shocks in GT3. I ran with Dominic and we were outclassed by the better platforms and the 17.5 cars. It was all good, because I still had fun!

What engine did you use?
Golddust ran GT3 last year as a fill in Spot driver and came in a very close 4th place
If I remember it was a fight for the win to the end
