Seems Alex K. did a great job at the Reedy Race, with A-Main finishes in both open classes.....Very cool to see this guy get better and better over the years. Nice job!

Absolutely, was clicking thru the videos on YouTube and caught his race (It was the Open 2wd A-Main I believe). Put a smile on my face to watch a local guy make it there for one, and do as well as he did...Alex, if you see this, congrats man.

You're like my father

Strange question for you guys. Any of you ever race on carpet? I was having Static discharge issues with the bandit and couldn't figure out how to get rid of it. Any thoughts?

That Traxxas plastic is insulating and therefore acts like a capacitor, but with much lower conductivity than the graphite composite based plastics in modern chassis. This leaves less opportunity for built-up charge to spread out and dissipate to ground (e.g., during chassis slaps on the track surface). Running that Bandit on carpet is like rubbing a balloon against a rug (or your hair).

If you can find a foil-based chassis protector sheet, that can help. Or you can paint the chassis using a metal-based paint. Honestly, though, your best bet is to run a different kind of chassis on carpet. Either graphite or graphite composite.
