In talking with Will we are going to try running both WNW and SNL as follows
Doors open At 5pm (most days the shop is open earlier)
Practice 5pm-6:30pm
Sign ups close at 6:30pm
track prep 6:30pm-7pm
1st heat 7pm
2- 6 min Qualifiers
1- 8 min Main (1 bump from the B to the A main)
I would like to stay with the 2 min clock between the heats and 15 mins between rounds
Our Goal is to have the racing done by 10:30pm
please if anyone has any input please post
Thank you!!!

Hey Guys just want to make a quick announcement here...
For the last few months, my friend (and all of yours) Jay Kennedy has been filling in calling races at the Wednesday Night Worlds and Saturday Night Lights club races. He has done a fantastic job so we'd like to make it official. It is my pleasure to announce Jay officially as Race Announcer/Director at RCHR. So starting at tomorrow nights edition of the Wednesday Night Worlds you all will get to enjoy the golden tones and comic styling of the Ginger Man himself. As you all know, John Benedict also gets all fired up to call races and also does a great job and will continue to call many races as always. I predict that with John & Jay will keep the race program at RCHR exciting, smooth and professionally run. Welcome to the RCHR team Jay!

So just to be clear, every SNL from this weekend forward will be scheduled like this? Or is this just for this weekend?
If it is for this weekend going forward through the summer, then I have two questions/comments:
1.) Eric typically shows up early to work on the track on Saturdays. Although the shop is closed, the track and pit area are open. I have found this to be very helpful for someone like myself, who can use this time to work on my equipment if/when I don't have enough time throughout the week to do so. So I'm just wondering what is meant here by "doors open at 5pm." Does that mean the shop, or the entire facility, is closed until 5pm?
2.) I understand the desire to end the program at a reasonable time, especially for WNW, which is a work night for most people. I also understand that doing the same for SNL will achieve parity between both programs (even though most people don't have to worry about getting up for work on Sunday morning). This is probably a sensitive topic for some people, in terms of how much time between rounds and how many rounds we "should" run, so I wouldn't be surprised if this causes some debate. I would say that, despite the benefits to running 2 quals and 1 main, it does seem like a downgrade from the program that we have historically run at RCHR, in terms of total track time, etc. I would personally not mind this if the facility were open for longer (i.e., pit and track open at noon or whatever) so that we have the opportunity to get more practice time in beforehand. 1.5 hours for practice really isn't much, especially if you break something critical and end up spending most of practice fixing what you broke. I have had this happen before and, when it does happen, it feels like being ripped off to drive an hour to a track and be rushed through a racing program without sufficient practice/setup time.

Reinaldo, no worries, the shop, tracks both indoor/outdoor and pits are officially open at 11am, however as you stated, Eric is almost always there by the crack of dawn and has everything open anyway.

Vega,
I totally Hear where your coming from, there is the option of starting at 6pm and run 3 rounds but my main goal is to race under the lights and get the program done at a reasonable time so those that come from NY and farther can get home safely and not super late. my bad I didnt post the correct time for Saturday and like will said most days the shop is open much earlier and feel free to come practice. as for the time in between race you know we do our best to get everyone on the track.
thank you for your input and continued support

Ok, it's looking like a go for me coming up to race tomorrow. Like I said, I'll run whatever shows up. Have the turnouts lately been good on Wednesdays? This week has July 4th so I don't know if that will affect the participation level? This may be my only chance to come race with you guys this summer so I wanna make it count. Also - is there usually a bug problem around the drivers stand due to the lights? This is usually an issue at the Barn so I usually bring citronella candles to keep the flying insects away from our faces.
