Only had time to get the diff done last week (I like to complete the diff and shocks first). But, this weekend, got a good chunk of it done. Now, just turnbuckles, transmission case/motor plate, then install electronics. Should have the car basically done tonight. I've scheduled to install electronics tuesday night. Wednesday, it should be ready. Man, it's been a while since I've raced any 2wd vehicle.

Build is much nicer compared to other ae builds. Of course, one of the crush tubes didn't have uniform thickness all the way around. So, i'm calling ae today to get some free ones. Hopefully, the left front wheel keeps on spinning until I get it. B5 Nation! lol.

Yeah, we've beaten this to death a few times, but no problem...

The best tires depend on the track condition. John usually waters the track between rounds. If you're up early in the round when the track is still damp, then clay compound (Pro-Line MC, JConcepts Gold, etc.) works pretty well. If you're up later in the round as the track is drying out, super softs (Pro-Line blue, JConcepts green, etc.) work well. I personally prefer bar tires (Suburbs, BarCodes, etc.), although other drivers here prefer the really shallow tread tires (pressure points, ions, etc.). It all depends on who you ask, but I use bar tires because they last longer and provide plenty of traction.

Mid vs. rear motor is an ongoing debate between the fanboys, but I'll give you my take. Ultimately, it depends on your driving style, but in most cases rear motor is the way to go. Mid motor puts more weight forward, which means less rear traction. This is fine if you're running on a high grip surface (e.g., if the track is sugared) and need more cornering speed. We do not sugar the track at RCHR, but when it is dry, the grip is fairly high and you can get away with mid motor. However, when it's damp, you will struggle with it.

If you don't feel like switching tires around...I find m4 ions or suburbs to be pretty consistent, damp or dry.

Testing waters:
Thinking about selling my SCTE 2.0 either as a roller or loaded. (tekin rx8, Tekin pro4 4600, Savox 1258) Add your RX and go! few sets of tires as well. Upgraded both of the drive shafts to the Techno shafts. Also added the TLR aluminum front top plate and aluminum rear hubs.
$325 roller
$450 RTR

If anyone is interested, let me know.

Hey Tony we have 3 rear motors left @ $239.99 (factory price now) + tax and a RCHR 4 free race card. The mids should be coming soon, I'll let everyone know when they come in.

Guys, our last order came in last wed with the new factory price. Anyone who bought from us before that at $249 (I think I know who everyone is) can come talk to me if they want.

Any track layout changes for the race on Sun? Is it the same layout as last week's videos?

We'll be sticking with the current layout for the race this weekend.
