Default Depressed… local track is closing

Sad to report that RC Karcz in E Providence is closing.

It sucks because I was out of RC for a long time, then I found that place, so I decided to get back in. Built up a TLR22 5.0 and was able to get out there a couple of times to get my feet back under me. Just started feeling better about my control and setup (still very rusty), then I got injured, so I’m down for a few weeks. Today I see they’re closing. RI just can’t keep a track open like the RC Madness and RC Excitement’s of the world for some reason, and the closest off-road tracks are an hour or more away. I just can’t make that trek to practice/race consistently seeing as I have a family.

if someone had the money to put a RC shop and track in around here, they’d make $. Not since the OLD days of Ray’s hobby (when it was near the airport), has there been a legit RC shop/track. Any RC shops here don’t stock much, and say they can order it. Well I can do that too, and it’ll come right to my door. When I travel to a hobby shop, I’m there to buy and take it home at that moment.

Ugh, rant over. Hopefully the guys at RC karcz can get back up and running somewhere else, because the people were really nice the few times I’d been there. If that’s not in the cards, hopefully a new establishment can get up and going. I NEED to race lol!

I know your pain. I got back in after 15 years. There was a track about an hours away. They closed. Now the closest one is like 2 hours. I don't want to sell off again, but not looking promising.

There's no real money to be made in RC. It's a labor of love that might pay the bills. Did they lose their lease?
