Talking Brooklyn: Organizing 1/10 street races

Location: Brooklyn, NY - Williamsburg waterfront. Aiming to make the first races happen late July, 2019.

I'm diving back into RC, looking for racers interested in mixed class Touring/Off-road racing, on closed NYC streets. All racers welcome.

Course details:
  • Some asphalt, but sidewalks/concrete/cracks and transitions between make Pan Cars impractical without damaging them.
  • Transitions to sidewalk curbs, but being mostly pavement, not at all suitable for full-on off-road type jumps.
  • Some cobblestone areas (filled/covered with asphalt)
  • Areas with clean flat astroturf.
  • Quite free from human traffic during evenings, plenty of light, (night racing!)
  • No electrical/facilities.
  • One area has a huge natural drivers stand, ideal vantage point for drivers.
  • Course made with minimal materials carried to site, (cones, tape, and maybe linear pieces of wood)

For this type of street racing and track layouts, the following 1/10 scale car types would all be competitive:
  • 1:10 Electric 4WD Buggy
  • 1:10 Electric Touring Car
  • 1:10 Electric 2WD Buggy
Body styles: anything.

Yes- I *am* looking to start racing all these classes of car together. This is unconventional racing, unconventional course.may
The following car types also be competitive depending on tuning:
  • 1:10 Electric Rally
  • 1:10 Electric Stadium Truck,
  • 1:10 Electric Short Course Truck

- I'd be delighted to agree on some spec class, (e.g. everyone racing exact same motor/ESC, boundaries on batteries/charging).
- I'd be delighted to also just race unlimited motor/esc and see what happens

If any specific crew of people show up and want to race some other electric class separately, (e.g. monster truck, mini-z-1:18-buggy), that's great- the more the merrier.

Any racers in NYC interested, post below, comments or suggestions welcome!
