Kits will arrive on Tuesday and will start shipping out on Wednesday. Amain should have them the following week.

We will post our setup from the GLC by Tuesday. The car works great right out of the box. It was fast and reliable and an easy build.

The 977 EVO2 was a fantastic car and still very competitive. The biggest thing I'm hoping with the 988 is that the brakes are a little bit more progressive because I found the 977 brakes extremely powerful but a bit snatchy at times, especially in low traction. I understand that this will be the case. I cant wait to drive it!!

Yes. The 977 would have a more "snatchy" feeling, since the brakes are being applied directly to the axle.

By moving the brake disk to the 2-speed shaft, you now have a belt between the disk/2-speed shaft and rear axle. This rubber/kevlar belt is going to act as a dampener, giving a greater "sweet spot".

I'm in a bit of a rush to get this together as I'm running in Fiorano in a couple of weeks. I'll try to get some pictures of the bits that are different to the 977 evo 2

So rear end is done and half way through the front end. The car is going together absolutely perfectly. Not one part has needed any work to improve the fit of the components and everything is free without any play at all right off the bat.

Extremely impressed with the quality of this kit. I've built most of Serpents cars over the many years I've ran Serpent and the quality just keeps getting better and better. The 977 was good. The 988 is just perfect.

The changes over the 977 are very noticeable. The anti roll bar fitment is fantastic and has the pivot ball attachment to the arms at a better angle than before.

The 1st gear one way now runs on the 2sp shaft and no longer requires an adapter and the whole shaft feels great in the new bearing blocks. The new brake system is great - just 2 screws and the whole brake assembly pops out easily without taking anything else off.

The new arms are really strong but still light despite the extra screws you need to install the arm stiffener plates. Once together the arm is super strong front and rear. I really can't see it breaking anytime soon. The front upper arm is the same as the 977. The rear hubs, front steering blocks and the steering servo saver assembly is the same as the 977. Proven designs.

Oh and the black anodising ❤️❤️❤️

That's as far as I've got so far. I'll post some pictures later on!! Can't wait to run this car...
