Default OFNA Racing LD3....

Does anyone know anything about this car?

I was just thumbing through the latest RCCA and past right by the OFNA add because I thought it was just like the other ones.(just a black page with the LD3 logo on it)

But this one was different. The add is on page 91 of the Jan 2003 issue. It actually has a light outline of what the car looks like. It looks from the position of the engine that the car is a shaft drive and has a extremely low center of gravity.

I guess this is OFNA's replacement for the OB4 pro.

You can tell that just by seeing that light outline? I could tell the cars would look similar, but to say its a knockoff with only that pic to go by is strecthing it a little don't you think. Unless you've seen something I haven't. If so, share the knowledge.

I believe Tamiya was making shaft drive nitro cars (1/10 nitro and Super Nitro) before Associated came out with the NTC3, but nobody complain about those similarities. So why waste time doing it now?

Lets actually get a good clear look at the car before the accusations about "knockoffs" start getting throw around.

Man, sometimes I start to wonder if we all wait for a company to release a car, just so we can complain about what other car its like. According to most people around here, there hasn't been a car in any class released in the past three or four years that wasn't a copy of somebody elses car.

If anybody has anything positive or informative to say about this new car, lets hear it.

It's true! I saw a RTR version of it! The LD3 has minor differences like the tank (1/8 scale style flat towards the bottom), radio tray has a covered battery compartment (instead of it being open), arms were modified to the OB4 don't know what the stock ones were like. Basically the car is being tested by an Ofna driver to build a pro version of it! I should've brought my dig -cam last night! I'm guessing the RTR will be out first!

I don't know why no pictures have surfaced yet. Seems like an interesting car.

But these days, does it really matter whether the companies' put out pics or not. All they're good for is for people to scream at their computer screens that "its a copy" of some other car.

Like I said, there doesn't seem to be much else to say about the car. It would be nice if OFNA would release some more info, so there would be something to talk about.

granted the car looks like a tc-3

but what they did is improve on it

no more plastic diff gears, it now has steel one's similiar to it's 1/8 one's

it has real pillow ball suspension that you can tke the slop out of

the steering geometry is identical to the tc-3

the chassis is stronger

and the bulkheads and shock towers are way overbilt, I mean they're built very tough

it also has a real rear swaybar not like the useless one on the
tc-3

the car seems to handle very similiar to the tc-3 but I think you can drive it harder because it's less likely to break

It was ok at the guns for tots race except for the "traction flipping"
I talked to Darren and Robbie and decided to change tires and adjust my dual rate on my r-1
I never got a good run in so I t-qed the C main if you can beleive that
Won it and bumped to the B and got 2nd and bumped to the A main and I think I got 6 or 8 not sure

Do you know if Dana has changed the track back to the old way yet
