Default Anyone heard of a Picco .12 7-port Turbo?

A bud of mine was going to sell me this motor, brand new for 120. I haven't heard nor found much about it. I jsut bought a picco .12 3 port for the car. I was going to practice with it for a while, then pick up like the tx 5 port or something after a few months when I got the hang of all these turns... I have been in nitro for a while, and just starting to road race instead of meeting up with the guys from the hobby shop at the local parking lot...

Any bad things about these motors? I'm still a huge O.S. fan. I have a picco .27 in my savage, and it makes good power, but almost every time I start it I have to re tune it. A problem I have never had with an O.S.

I have heard of one. I knew a guy who tried one in a dirt oval car. He said it was fast but difficult to tune. He was comparing it to a Pixie red 5 port (I think). I think he went back to the Pixie.

RCCA dynoed that engine a while back but I can't find that issue.I had one but never ran it.So I have no idea how good or bad it is..It's made by Picco and you know Picco carbs are known to be hard to tune and are terrible when it comes to holding a tune..

I got one off ebay about 3 months ago. The thing is really FAST. It keeps a great tune, no problems here. Wish I could find another one, I would definatly buy it !

There is a hobby shop in Plano, TX (T&T R/C Cars) that has one new in the box for sale. He has had it for several years (still had it as of 8/1/10). If anyone is interested, you can call the owner, Joe Sullivan, at 972-633-2470 and tell him Juan sent you. His store hours are 11a to 6p Monday through Saturday.

The one I was talking about was an older (first version) of the engine with the onroad touring car heatsink head on it. The one from the posted link is the newer version of it.

So far I can see it is not a real 7 port engine. It has 5 transfer and 2 boost ports.
