Glow plug

  • What glow plug is good for 40% nitro fuel
  • The coldest one.. 40% seems like overkill to me.

i agree that engine gonna have a short life if you use that much nitro
  • again, what the hell are you using 40% for? back off! lol drop down to like 20%
  • SHIM IT SHIM IT SHIM IT SHIM IT. AND A VERY COLD PLUG! DID I TELL YOU YOU NEED TO SHIM IT?
  • I use 16% for my 10th
  • you must be mixing it yourself, cause what dumb ass fuel company would mix 40%

I have seen 60% at my LHS.It is made for boats.

    Mark
  • wow 60% that is high
  • Dont use 40%

i have had many engines over the years and the max i have ever used was 20% i do everything from club events to gold cost challanges and some state titles and most of the guys there use 16% so if you want your engine to last long term drop the nitro down to 20% or 15% and like MANINTHEMUGEN said shim it.
  • You don't need to shim it if you run 20% or lower.
  • Quote: You don't need to shim it if you run 20% or lower.
yeah no need to shim it on 20% or lower you will just make it slower
  • 40% percent is pretty high but I see a lot of guys using it. If you use odonell plugs go with #97 or #99. for nova i would use #7tf or #8tf and its been posted before but you will need to shim the engine.
  • Yeah double the amount of shims at least and go polar bear toenail cold plug like. Your motor is also going to loose reliability.
  • Go to www.rbproducts.com and scroll down the left side to "which glow plugs to use?" and look at the ambient temps vs. nitro, etc and see which to use.
    Good luck
