Dye is dye , it goes on fabrics and such , it wont break down anything just stains it yellow. With your tires being black , they cant change color since there black.

This is how people change the color of there rims. Its doesnt coat them with crappy paint that will chip off and when you hit curbs and crap it wont show white underneath. The entire rim will just become a whole new color.

thanks for the info, I will dye them this weekend and post a pic when I finish. I have dye my buggy rims before but the water was boiling so hopefully the boiling water doesn't loosen the glue holding the tires on. or should I cold water dye them?

Hot water makes the cells more active so it gets into the rim easier. I wouldnt boil them but make sure its in a good concentration with very very hot water.

If that doesnt work take the heat up higher. Im also thinking scuffing of the rim a tad with like scotch brite will help it soak in the dye.

Actually it can make you faster. High visible bodies and direction style bodies do help. So having alternate color wheels on the body is going to help him see where the front is , therefore making it easier to drive and the faster he will go.

Reason why people have flame jobs , highly visible , easy to follow and directional.
