Need advice - Kyosho

Got a Kyosho nitro car about 5 years ago,
put it together, into the cupboard and just found again last week. Lost the manual. What needs to be done to get it in working order? Air filter is melted and the remaining fuel in the tank has turned into orange jelly. Some hints or links in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well it would help if you knew what model of Kyosho car it was. Kyosho makes like a dozen cars if not more.

That's the problem, I don't know. I've got no documentation, just the car. The body was a Mercedes but that's probably no help at all.

oh ok,

hmmm, you could try going to www.kyosho.com
see if the car you have looks like anything you see on the site.

I'm not really looking for model specific stuff, more like what things should I do to a negelected engine. The rest of the car is pretty much mint cond.

I'd start with:
Replace the fuel line abd pressure line
Fill and rinse the tank completely a couple oftimes using oil, cheaper then using the nitro methanol fuel.
Clean the exhaust pipe out,
Replace the Glow plug.
With glow plug off tip a bit of oil through and slowly wind the engine over a little bit.
Replace the air filter.
Check that no dust is in the carbie, it so remove the carbie and clean it out.
Take it out side and see if it will start

If you can post a picture of it, someone might be able to identify it. I have done that a couple of times and I even got a manual out of doing it.
