Default Front hopping on turns?

Hey guys, I have an Xray NT1 2013 that has recently began to hop in the front of the car when I make turns. This happens both left and right turn. The track just received a new surface for this season so traction is way up from last season. What adjustment can I make to keep the front of my car from hopping? It's like the front wants to traction roll but the rear isn't letting it.

Ride height = Front - 5 / Rear - 5.6
Downstop = Front - 0.5 / Rear - 5.4
Camber = Front - 2 / Rear - 2.5
No added weight.

Thank you,

Kyle

Did you check for a mechanical problem like the Allen screw or the pin backing out of the cvd in the axle? The last time that happen to me it was that. One other time the axle was binding from the front-end being to narrow.

I did not think to check those things. I will definitely tear into the front end and make sure that everything is freely moving and adjusted correctly. Thank you for your help. I will take a look at it tonight.

Worn driveshafts and drive cups will do that.

Ya, If I remember right they are pretty warn. Not horrible yet but I guess enough to do this. Too bad they are unnecessarily expensive to replace. I'll have to take the front end apart and check all of these things. Thank you guys!

DCJ drives that fit will work way better than CVD's..... I got them in my Ntc3, and they make a big difference....

Definitely check for flat spots on the drive shafts and notches worn in the diff out drives. These parts might be expensive to replace on an Xray but they last a full season or more of racing and outlast quite a few other brands that may be cheaper to buy.

Glad you found the issue. The symptoms you described were classic worn shafts.

I check my shafts after each day running on the car. When the pin gets to 2.5mm at the smallest point it's scrap. I always replace shafts and cups at the same time.

Good to know. thank you Dan. I'll have to start keeping track of my dog bones. And yes, all out drives, dog bones, and axles are getting replaced before the next race.

I have found adding grease to the pin and cleaning and reapplying helps extend the life of these parts. I clean them in a sonic cleaner with Shellite between meets.

I do the same. I use assembly grease (red bearing grease) on these when installing.
