Default What is the best bang for the buck RTR

As the title states, I'm looking for the best bang for the buck RTR. I'm fairly knowledgable(sp) about RC, but I don't want to fork out all the money for a kit, servos, transmitter, receiver, motor, pipe, etc. etc. I figure if I can get the best bang for the buck RTR, and then upgrade it until, i have the parts to buy just a kit. I.E. I know the NTC3 RTR plus can be used with the team hop ups, and then i could upgrade my electronics, and motor. Then once i have them upgraded I could get a kit. Hope I didn't ramble to far off topic.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

-Brandon

The new TeamMagic G4 LeMans RTR seems pretty nice.

I think the best bang for the buck would be to buy a used race package..

i wouldnt mind doing that if i could find it locally. I just dont trust people enough to buy something I cant see or test. And as far as the Team magic car goes, its nice but for 630 i could prob build a kit that would keep up if not be a little better.

Keep 'em coming though I really appreciate all of the help so far.

Big turbo on
the lemans thats full retail on the lemans thats not the street price and with a few option parts the car can be upgraded to a race 2006 TM G4s. If you want more information and the street price on the lemans email me. or pm me.

The Lemans is going to make a great series type car like 235 2wd when running the stock motor.
With an easy way to go full 200mm outlaw with an engine change and a few option parts People just havent figured it out yet

You have a PM. anyone else, are ofna RTR's any good, Hpi RS4 18ss or evo 3, AE NTC3 plus, iunno of many more, i just started thinking about getting back into it. As far as parts go, my LHS carries mostly all parts, so that shouldnt be a problem.

For your first car, I would say the NTC3 coming from experience. As far as speed of the box, for $300. I went through 3 cars before I got the TC3, and the other ones did not come close. I purchased the HPI EVO 3 and had problems with it. The only problem I had with the TC3 was the shock tower, but that couls easily be fixed. NTC3 if you ask me!!

Wont be my first car, I have had 3. A corally rdx, hpi rs4 2, and a ntc3. I was just wondering if I shouldn't just build a kit, or if there is a RTR that is just as competitive.

big turbo you need to decide what you ultimatly want the car to be for you. A play car or a race car you intend to race, it also depends alot on whether you intend to do parking lot bashing or not. If you ultimatly intend to race it on a track you should built a kit car as there are many good ones out there to choose from. The RTR thing really limits your options if you intend to eventually competitively race it. If your going to parking lot bash it some a belt car might not be what you want. An FW05 or a Ofna CD3 might be a better choice in that case.

I plan to strictly race it. The only parking lot bashing would be racing at my LHS which closes down the parking lot and puts up a track once a month. I guess that could be considered parking lot bashing. But yea I plan on racing only, I have been looking at kits, and the Winter Nats coming will better help me. The only reason why I look at the RTR's is they are a little easier on the pocket to get back into the hobby. But I guess if need be, I won't have a problem dropping some coin.

Thanks again for all the help.
