I'm still using the 4 - AA pack. Buying batteries sucks!

You can buy the AA Ni-mh rechargable batteries, they last much longer than regular batteries, Energizer has a package that comes with 8 2500mah AA's and a 30-min (or 15min) charger for around $30. That way you can stop spending money on "throwing away" batteries. Hope this helps.

My primary question was about the hump pack rechargable batter for bid on eBay. I was curious if it would fit. I know that I can get rechargeables for it, but I thought a battery pack would last longer.

As for so far, AA has higher capacity than the 2/3 cells. The highest of AA now is about 2600mah, and 2/3 is 1400mah. But 2/3 is smaller and lighter than AA that's probably why is more commonly used on competition machines. They also have 6v hump pack with AA's too but most cars can't fit it. But it would help alot more if you can show a pic of ur car's battery compartment.

The CD3 uses AAA designed for the MTX-3.

If you are saying that the CD3 runs on AA batteries, you've never seen one. I've bought AA batteries ever since I've owned it (6 months) and that is what the instructions call for.

Well, the auction is over, and I now have a 5 cell hump pack on it's way. I'm just taking a chance I guess. Now I just need to buy a charger for it. Anyone know where to get an inexpensive charger?

C Verano - I mean if you are saying that it runs on AAA batteries. Sorry, I can't type today. Is there something I'm missing if you are saying that it should be on AAA's?

I'm confused as hell now!

AAA pack will be lighter....you need to get 5.
AA pack will be ok but you will be down in voltage a bit if its a 4 pack.

Rechargable AA = 1.2V X 4 = 4.8V
Alkaline AA = 1.5V X 4 = 6.0V

As for cheap chargers....there really is no such thing. You get what you pay for...but you can find some reasonable ones. I really cant think of a good cheap one.....but the Duratrax ICE has been a really good charger to me. Its about $100 from towerhobbies.
