We have nothing to do with the Euro's and I'm not sure why Bart posted that information in the Worlds thread.

Rather than make it seem like the worlds coverage is poor with your post when our event hasn't even started yet you might want to send Bart a private message and ask him your question.

Just wanted to give an update on the domain (web/email) being down.

The server hosting the site had its OS fail, it is being rebuilt and the backup is being restored.

There will be a delay because of this with DNS/nameserver addressing needing to be updated and propogated across the net.

Again if anyone needs to contact me urgently they can email me at
[email protected]

Kind Regards

Alastair Walker

No problem just didn't want to get the events mixed together.

The worlds website has been down due to a major server crash at our host.

They have restored the backup but are having some issues with the DNS name change propogating across the net. We are hoping that it will be back up today sometime but I will post a message here when all is right with the site again.

We are also getting a backup server in place for the event so this doesnt happen again.

Kind Regards

Alastair

I live in Sydney and would like to come up and watch. Will the A Main finals be on the Saturday and Sunday (16th and 17th)?

The main final will be held on Saturday the 16th of September. Sunday the 17th is the rain day and will only be used if the schedule is delayed due to wet weather during qualifying.

Hi Chris,

There will be people at the track on the 18th as site sheds and the like will need to be picked up by suppliers etc. I'm not sure if the track will be open on the 18th but you can ask Doug Barber when you get here.

As you can imagine after the event most of us will want to have a break for a few days as we have been preparing for this for two years now and with the awards banquet being on the Sunday night of the 17th most of us will probably be a bit under the weather from partying. If the track is open for normal on the 18th then you can pay your 10 bucks at Trackside RC and go for your life.

Cheers Alastair

After many trials and tribulations the Worlds website and email is finally back online.

It has been a long seven days for our IT manager with Jeff finding out that the host we were using in Sydney had less than competent techs to bring the server back online after a major OS failure. After a lot of long nights and hours on the phone basically telling the provider how to fix the problem Jeff has managed to retrieve all our data and the site is back up and running.

Over the next week or so the site will be moved to a new server provider and we will also have a back up server in place with another provider to hopefully ensure this doesn’t happen again.

Thank you for your patience while the site has been down, we have tested all of the pages and files and made sure everything is working and loading as it should be but if you find any issues while using the site please let me know by email or here in the forum.

Kind Regards

Alastair

Sorry for the mix-up with the Euro's, but I thought people might like to see some coverage of the Euro's as sort of 'warm-up' for the Worlds.

During the worlds a reporter and photographer will daily update me with the news of that day from the Worlds, and send pictures, videos and reports. I'll edit the photo's, videos and reports and put them online. So an 'almost' live coverage with many actual pictures will be available during the Worlds on our website www.RCJRacing.com

That is the same as we did last year during the Worlds 1:8th in Messina through our Dutch website www.RC-Junkies.com . Look at our coverage of that event : http://www.bb-hardware.com/modules/s...ticles&secid=7

We are sure that our website will be available and the server is almost bomb-proof'', since we are having over 12gB traffic a day by now! The site of the Worlds, as mentioned above, is still offline

Not sure which site you mean is off line.

The current 1/10th Worlds official site IS now back on line as Alistair states.

The current issue is not with our server it is currently a Telstra backbone problem that is affecting all ISP's trying to access the site through a Telstra backbone.

We have and are continuing to access the site through non Telstra backbone ISP's so some will be able to access the site and some won't until Telstra fix the problem that is affecting all ISP's who use Telstra for their backbone.

Just seems to be Murphy's law that this has happened to Telstra right when we brought the server back up.

Kind Regards

Why doesn't the drivers list never show what will each one be running?

Is it possible to have a list indicating car, engine, pipe, tires??

Unless there is a rule preventing the use of this information, it would be a nice change for the first time in an event....just my 2 cents
