legal engines

are roar and ifmar rules for .12 engines for 200 mm touring car the same? Looking at some current adds for engines, what the heck do i need to buy? 3 port, 5 port, turbo, what engines fall in the not legal category and what would be considered legal. Also if an engine is made knowing it dosnt fall into a class why do they make it anyways? I plan on racing nitro sedan next spring. Trying to get everything in order before i make my purchases.

thanks.

Default Roar legal engines

If you are not racing at ROAR sanctioned events then it probally doesn't matter. Most 3 port .12 engines are ROAR legal. I have the current rule book if you are really interested. Also a 3 port racing engine should make more than enough power for you at the parking lot race level.

I would be racing at joyce park, hamilton, oh. you must be a roar member to race their so I assume they run under roar rules also. I don't want to rock the boat by running an illegal engine only because of not knowing.

you could run any 3 port non turbo for this i
recomend the jp modified but you would have
to change the button to a non turbo and
still get the benifit of done i think it is legal.
because I see a lot of people running modded
3 ports with the standard button as long as
the mods still stay within roar specs ie carb
inlet diameter and crank diameter.

Did someone see the stadard plug that was machined to look like a turbo plug. I thought it was really funny that people would do this. Did you think they should have let them use it... I mean if someone finds a loophole, let them have fun and by next time ammend the rules.

I really thought it was funny.
