HI there.
I have few questions. I presently race electric. Was planning on givin nitro a go next summer.

I'm not a complete newbie. After doing some reading. I've deiced on the g4s or the g4+. leaning more on the g4s. As this will be my first nitro car.

When you get the kit does it come with a manual to help on learn to tune the engine. What motor do you guy's prefer. I know I could ask my club guy's but they will tell me to go get a serpent.I like to be different.

what fuel do you guy's recommend. the guys at my club prefer blue thunder, I've heard and read mix reviews.

How hard is it to adjust a cluch and set up ones carbs? when does on lean or fatten? What are the tires of choice? I know that a lot of questions.

I like to do my home work ahead of time. planning on picking a nitro car up over the winter and get ready for next summer.

Thanks ahead

Dennis try out the spool setup

http://www.rctech.net/forum/attachme...4&d=1182776723

The track in the pics looks similar in characteristics to our home track and i am sure it will be close to what you would need.Just a few tweeks to your liking and it you should be on the groove

Good choice, the G4S is a stable performer and a very good first nitro car if you have some RC experience.

Motors are a personal choice, however, you can't go far wrong with an OS .12TZ for your first motor. The manual does NOT cover engine tuning, but the motor manual does cover engine tuning, however, it is a basic manual. There are plenty of motor forums, no matter what engine you decide on.

The clutch is a technical thing, and shortcuts only lead to grief or worn parts. Get someone to show in person how to set the clutch properly. Some people get it from reading, some people don't.

For tyres, try the K-Factory foams or Jaco Nitro Shoes as these are competitve tyres with plenty of grip. Try 40 shore tyres all round to start off. It's the same as electric racing, different tyres for different tracks/surfaces.

Hope that helps, read a little more on the forums about the various engines and see what is most common in your LHS or wherever you shop so you can get parts easily.
