I may not be right, but you can try take off the brake disk and see if the issue gone. If so, you might may a defacted Alu. break pulley parts as I did. I used to have drag when I push my old Mongoose backward. but it was gone when I use the full Alu. 18t break pulley.
there was a updated alu. part of break pulley come with G4S I did try it before I switch to the option pulley.
look at the picture below, which one look like yours? the one on the left is the old version.

Default Team Magic G4-S

Brian Berry
This is Gary McDow from Toledo track.
What brand pulleys are you using on your car?
and is that what you used at MWS @ Toledo?
I was not able to get my car together for race and then went to Virgina.
Want to be ready for next club race and GLC race.
I also had a problem with my clutch when installed as manual stated without any shimms and tighten screw for thrust bearing the clutch is tight against shoe I had to use Elec. motor shimms between SG shaft and thrust bearing sleeve to get clearance to spin clutch bell.
I have the Nova made Mugen X12 JP mod. motor.
Today I found the UFO clutch doc. That Dennis put on Kfactory site and will try that.
I bought my kit at Larry's and a few spares please let me know where I can get parts as He does not have much.

Thanks Gary McDow

From your explanation ,that is normal with a oneway.
My TRF415 ,Serpent and my G4S all do same .
can roll forward with no binding but lock up when rolling backwards.

i want to but the kit from rcscrewz but I dont know if I should get the g4s kit for the mongoose or the g4(original) kit for the mongoose.

also do their screws still grip well? cause i notice they have different threads.
Sorry for the delayed reply, I had a major computer crash and was off-line for a few days...

If your refering to those silver screws, they're neither the G4s conversion or Rcscrewz. They are from a website call fastener-express. I had some leftovers from when I added some blue and silver screws to my TA05, so I threw them on this car to replace the Mongoose's leftover phillips head screws.

And the screws are VERY good. Both the stainless steel and the alum. screws have very precise heads and I have yet to strip either material.

The car looks great! Good Luck and Good Racing!

Thanks...I'll start with the base setup and work from there then.

I think you might want to check your 2 speed for problems. That happend to me and the 2 speed wasnt disengaging. Re-ajusted 2 speed spring adjustment and the problem went away. The adjustment screws were hitting the outer housing.

We are taking about 3 threads off the 2 speed screws, to prevent this from happening.

Ahh good idea. I didn't think of that. Luckily my car shifts at the right point when I backed off the screws.
