Electric racers, take note!

FWIW, my Team Magic G4s is now race ready... using parts from my Tamiya TL-01 Tha Tamiya ball stud has the same threads as the TM and the shock shafts are also the same. I used the TL-01 spring cup and cranked the spring adjuster about 1 1/2 turns to compensate.

The G4s really kicked butt in qualifying for the Western Australian state titles.

G4s' took TQ (Alex Page) and 2nd (Me!!). We were the only two drivers to post 15 sec lap times in the whole event, Alex with a 15.7 and me with a 15.9.

During the 30min main, Alex got away to a good start with 4th place driver Joseph Hall(current australian TCS stock champ and MTX-4 Pilot) close behind. I tangled with the 3rd place car(Brent Lockwood, MTX-4) and dropped to 4th. I quickly made my way to 3rd and settled in.

Before the first fuel stop Alex was just edging away from Joseph and I was a little way back by this stage having lost contact with the leaders. I hoped my choice of 42 shore tyres all around would come good later in the race.

At the first fuel stop, a speedy entry from Alex saw the rear body posts come off when his pit man stopped the car. This cost Alex the lead and eventually the title.

Joseph too found trouble at the fuel stops and I was handed the lead. I kept circulating keeping an eye on second place Brent, as he was only half a lap behind. After about 20 mins, I tangled with a back marker coming into the sweeper at the end of the main straight and had to be marshalled. I thought it was over.

At that same point I noticed Brent spin coming on to the back straight. I was hoping his tyres were going away. As it turned out I caught and passed him, however I then had to take my last fuel stop. Brent assumed the lead, but still needed to stop. Once Brent stopped I was again in the lead and with Brent's tyres not being in great shape he could not attack and the two of us drove to the chequered flag with Joseph making a great recovery for third.

I was super pleased with the car and the box-stock OS 12TZ. My ForFaster tyres hung in really well and I managed a personal best of 104 laps in 30mins to take the win.

With Alex enjoying the pace of his G4s (this was his first race meeting with the G4s as he only got the car on the monday before the event!!), and the G4s making me look like a half decent driver, I can honestly say this is the most stable car to drive fast I have ever come across.

My thanks to Team Magic for a great effort on the G4s.

Hey Zoom,

Well Done Thats a fantastic result....

We had our latest round in the UK at Snetterton, and G4S took 1st and 2nd (new team driver Stephen Lander) in qualifying, unfortunately we both had problems in the final, but both had the pace to fight for the win.

This was on a really tight track, compared to our first three nationals, so its good to know that its working well on all track types.
