Congrats to Ray on TQing today and winning in 200mm sedan at toledo today with G4S

The G4S is without a doubt the most underrated car on the market. Period.
It is without a doubt the best quality car for the money anywhere.
the car may be a sleeper looking good so far

I thought the idea of the laydown servos was to lower the CG of the car? ditto the battery and receiver.

What advantage do you believe you have with your setup?

the idea is to have more direct throttle linkage instead of having so much linkage parts for a laydown servo, also easier for maintainess.

with the setup is to have a better balance car which makes the car more neutral in handling, or easier to drive.

I'm interested here......
You have obviously put alot of work into your car, and you should be commended for that.....................
But, and this isn't to take away anything away what you've done with your car. It looks darn fine work, but................

Why?
You say its for better handling?
Than what? The G4s?
Cause they've done just that with the G4s.
Yes it will probably have better handling than the G4C,E,Mongoose etc cause thats why Tm brought out the s???

As for the servo. I can see what your saying about the less linkages. But again why?
I've not heard of anyone having maintenance problems with the linkages or the position of the servo. As Bimmer' says, the idea is to lower the CoG as much as possible.
Anyway good work, really!
Where did you get the C'Fibre parts from?
Tony

There is a dispute among designers of the benefits of a lay down or stand up throttle servo. Mugen maintains its designs with stand up position. Kyosho has released their RRR Evo with the same disposition, changing it from the lay down position of the RRR. Serpent 710 has it standing up.

They say that changing the throttle servo from the laydown position to a standup position will be better in overall handling, because beeing laydown only lowers CG by about .001%.
The theory behind stand up position is "mass centralization". The closer the weight is to the car's polar moment of inertia, the faster the car will change directions and the more stable it will be. Standing that servo allows them to move the weight closer to the center line of the car instead of hanging off the side of the chassis.

Just my 2 cents

I'm going to be ordering my upgrade kit in the next couple days and I had a few questions for the G4s owners.

-Why does the G4s need a rear belt tensioner. I never had any problems with the rear belt on my Mongoose. Infact when I look at how everything is laid out on the car, it seems that they would have to make the rear belt longer just to use that belt tensioner. Why go through all that trouble?

-How big of a reciever can the new receiver tray hold? Micro receivers only or something up to the size of a Xxtra?
