Default TM G4 - Qualitiy Castaway

Our state titles are approaching and we are preparing the G4 EVO as well as my oldest son who has switched to Shepherd.

Ive switched accross to a regulated LiPo for the G4 and so far so good. We used a Novak 3A regulator with a soft touch Switch that turned off when a stone flicked it, so we turned it around, then last week the + wire came off so I resoldered it

We are now using KFactory Purple springs all round and running Capricorn 40 shore as they have a slightly narrower offset which suits the magic's rear end.
We dont have any freeplay in the springs and we use droop according to the spring tension. If we want more droop then we soften springs and adjust.

I believe the magic likes smooth tracks or best soften up. We also kept our steering rate as low as the track would allow. My younger son drove the E4 and he has a much smoother driving style, the magic is a beautiful car to work on and I honestly believe the aluminium is very high quality.

The KFactory RED bearings, (best bought with the G4+/EVO kit) are very very nice, I dislike the sound of rattling bearings and the G4+ solves my problem in many many areas.

There are faster cars, it's without question but if you want to enjoy working on your MODEL more than RACING an RC car, then there's nothing wrong with a eam magic.

The Magic wasnt far behind the Shepherd at all, and the Shepherd was using a NEW Nova based Capricorn and the Magic was running an ancient RB with a Rod/Piston I found lying around. The Magic was <1 second off the pace and putting in respectable times for a Junior

I do understand, for experienced runners results matter, but if you are a serious and want to get into model motorsport, TM G4+ isnt going to disappoint you, your expectations have to be realistic.

If you expect a race chassis to do cartwheels down the back straight and get back on track without fail, then I suggest the MTX4R is more your kind of chassis. If you want a modular, elegant design with everything you need to learn the many elements of the RC motorsport then ignore the rumours and jump on board.

Parts are plenty and available in US and Asia, it's a relatively well priced car and you'll likely to meet a few others with them or those that remind you that they do miss a lot of the qualities that G4+ has.

As for RTR, you dont want over 1HP engine, and the main problem is you need starter boxes and chargers, so you end up geared up like the Pro Tourers at the track and hence where a standard G4JR tends to fall apart if you have to remove the wood screws.

Yes, Im the only one (AT OUR CLUB) running TM and have been for a long time, I still like the car and the notion of switching when Im enjoying isnt important to me, having a good time with the boys is, and that's still good here!

Hi Harry

Sorry didn't get to spend very long at Brendale on Sunday, just dropped up to visit Track side and was running late due to traffic jams and sleeping in too long.

So you are running the G4+ Evo at the states this year and not the LE?

All the best for you and the boys, make sure you have FUN...

Andrew

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, maybe you will come back to G4 later and give it another go. Its sad to see people leave, but have to have support and more important is it has to be fun....

Does the G4+ Evo allow longer rear arm position like LE?

Understand you being busy, Qld are going to be hectic. Might try and get up to watch some racing.

Take Care

Default Where I can find spare parts for G4RS

Hello All,

I'm from Brazil, and here is so difficult and expensive find and buy spare parts for my Team Magic G4RS. With the new model g4RS II my trying became more difficult.

So, I would like to know, if you can help me, showing some internet stores where I can found parts for my G4RS.

Remembering that is not G4RS II or G4RS 09.

Thanks for your help,

Alexandre, Peter at RCmanufactory.com is a dedicated TM specialist and knows the parts across the G4 range. I can highly recommend him if Asia is in your mailing region!
