This is how I stood up the servo. The serve holes line up with the screw holes already in the top deck. Next I cut out the area shown in the pic. Then I made the other piece to give it a little bit more strength. I had to enlarge the battery opening to fit a lipo in there and I was worried that the deck would be too weak. This change really narrows up the chassis profile from underneath and it also saves a little weight on that side of the car. Ricks top deck would be the way to go if you have access to a machine shop. He moved his receiver out and uses the Mugen receiver box to give it a bit more protection.

I like the idea of the LIPO. What LIPO are you using and where can you buy one?

Kindest regards,
Lars.

This is the lipo I have been using
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...0400&search=Go
I know that some people have been running some other ones with good results. I think that LRP makes a 1500mAh pack that fits pretty well but they are hard to find in the states. Try a search in one of the G4 treads to find that pack. Wolf Hobbies has said that they were going to make a pack but that was two years ago and it still is not out. Maybe some peer pressure and they will finally release one.

.... on the JayCar cells... what mah are you able to purchase? 1100mah?
how are you assembling them? spot weld ? solder?

The bottom line is I don't have the confidence going into a final without having to peak charge the pack during the race meeting.. My comment on the mugen...... I'm simply referring to the fact you can have 1600mah+ without any mucking around...

Do you know that TM have done for the G4II battery wise? drawings that i've seen show another cramped up radio tray..
Pack is same 5x AAA, different config though and turned 90 degrees .. so no change. Jaycars are 1000mAh, but I dont trust specs, Any chance you might be shorting?

Mine was a 1100mah TM pack. I think they make three. 800, 1000 and 1100mah

I think I'll stick with NMHI if the LIPOs are only 800mah, although I'd be looking at a LIPO with bigger capacity. My NMHI batteries store 1100mah, and I wouldn't go backwards with that, just to reduce weight.

Kindest regards,
Lars.

Man, I was just joking. I was wandering what kinda response I'd get.
That really raised some hairs didn't it.

No, if someone does get one I'd like to see pics myself.

That's why I kept my receiver in the stock position. I have been running it there for three years and I have never ran into any of the over heating issues.
I went with the lipo because when TM only had the 800 mAh pack they could be over drawn for current. Two digital servos, a transponder and 2.4g could pull almost 1.5A at full lock and the AAA pack could not handle that load. The 800 mAh lipo is all I could find at that time that was a close fit. I have never had any glitches when running it and it last long enough for an hour main.
