yes of course a stiffer cluch spring should do it. also try some heavier diff oils too if you want more punch.

I run a G4S on a tight temporary parking lot track each week. What would be a good setup for this application?

Track is small and tight, no track grip enhancer used except blowing track clean before racing. Racing is 2 x 5 minutes each night so tire wear is low.

Wanting to know best ackerman, tire diameter split, track and wheelbase, caster, springs, shock oil, pretty much everything.

Any help appreciated
I doubt an all purpose setup will be any better than what you have allready otherwise you wouldnt get around a tight twisty track. Is track smooth enough to run stiff? Over or under steer? Good in and out of corners?

Yes I do freestyles! PM sent. Look forward to your set-up.

Thanks Blis, so far am using factory settings with the exception of softer springs (and the shortest gearing of course). Wheel track is currently 204mm, wondering if I should try say 197mm or 196mm etc?

Yep Magics are quite wide for AARCMCC spec races, you can either move lower arms into the inner position (if avail on your model) and this will reduce track. You can wind them in but ensure the dog bones arent jamming and the arms and joints are free and not sticky. Ensur the sway bar isnt locking when narrowing too.

And you might find you will have to dremel off the ends of the wheel nut thread as they protrude beyond rims and track width too, depends on hex hubs and wheels you use. Ensure to try a few wheels as not to grind off TOO MUCH.

Good all round springs in soft config = Turquoise front 1.6mm / Purple rear. 1.3mm.

Default G4RS Impressions

Got hold of a brand new G4RS kit and built it up. Initial impression of the car was that it had way too much steering and it constantly unsettled the rear end which resulted in a car which was unpredictable... Was told by many to try lighter rear diff oils and lighter rear springs to settle the rear but this resulted in sluggish car. The only good point I had about the car was its ease to drive, very planted feel and forgiveness to sloppy driving... but overall the car was not as competitive as my prevous Xrays and Kysohos in terms of lap timings...

However, i did not give up on the car and analysed the issues i had with the car which were basically the way too fast turn-in unsettling my rear... I also wish to run a stiffer rear end with a heavier diff without it kicking out of corners for the added punch.

Decided to lower the front roll center to deaden the steering and also lower the rear roll center for more rear grip... now the car understeers more and works like a charm.... I am clocking similliar timings as before...

So in short, try the roll centers before giving up on any car... must say this car is really nice to drive...

Good to see you chose the "analysed the issues" route and didn't just give up, sell it and get a different car ( as most do)....

Unfortunately, that handling trait seems to be the Achilles heel of the G4RS - you'll tame the snappy steering by lowering the front roll center and then you will lose steering response and the car will feel "doughy" on the change of direction.

Don't be afraid to try front springs from different manufacturers ( hint)

The WC adjustable roll centre kit solves this by giving you greater adjustments.

I have a G4+EVO and in comparison to my RRR they are on the same level. I dont think the G4RS would be much different. all the parts in the G4 line are Interchangea
The nicest thing about the TM stuff is the material quality!

We've raced G4RS's for over 18 months - still on the original F & R belts, original diff out drives and still the original drive shafts!....cars are still tight and slop free.

ome racers here told me, it is a wrong move from Kyosho to TM chassis. IMHO, small details wont hurt me
