Congrad too all the victories of G4S owner
it is glad to hear that people are out having fun with their cars,
I still suffer from never ending rain in my place
my hand are now so rusted like metal can in ocean

Marc
what tires are you using? shore and brand and how is the track prepped. (ie what type of traction compound are they using. Also take the rear shocks off the car and lift the back of the car up and down. Is the sway bar binding. If you have the ends pushed in to far it will bind and when the car squats it will loose traction. (same thing can happen on the front and it will cause a push, you have to watch this on a G4)
you also need 3.5 to 4 degrees of rear camber and start with 2 degrees of toe in at the rear
use the upper location on the hub and the lower inner for the rear camber link
if the car is still loose drop to an aqua rear spring.

Last Sunday is first meeting for G4S. Handling is good more than enough steering, gear ratio is perfect and clearly fastest on track even with old engine on a very big track. But have some problem with UFO clutch and always slipping even we try many clutch setup combo. Any info??

please tell what clutch setup you were using. gap, springs, weights, shoe color??
I also recommend scuffing the clutch disc with scotchbrite after you break in the clutch bell. The clutch disc can glaze over because of the initial finish on the clutch bell. Make sure the UFO disc is not binding on the pins. I have opened the 3 holes in mine to 1/8th of an inch (just a little bigger)so i am guranteed it will not bind on the flywheel pins if they flex. this also allows the disc to find its own home in the clutch bell better.

agree with you, G4S has too much steering for setup that I use in old G4 and my Old 710, I have to try new setup the suppose to be more understeering , but weather SUCKS in my place

0.3mm shim with 0.1mm endplay so approx 0.4mm gap. Yellow spring, no weights and standard shoe. No binding on the pins and shoe. The spring tension first we try 0.6mm like the old clutch and slip very badly. We end up using 0.3mm but still slipping. How many mm is "2 thread shown"?

marc

if you are new to a G4 the i would say that the car needs to be set up from the rear, so rear camber, roll bar, and top link are the first things to try.

personally i always run the rear roll bar at its stiffest, and between 3.5 to 4 camber, then try the rear link, i have found that different tracks like a different setting.

if you want to give the car a nice understeer feel, try standing the rear shocks up, and laying the fronts all the way down (with the above settings)

good luck,
Darren.

Hello Motorman
i use 37 front and 40 rear ellegi or Jaco and GQ front and rearthe same.
we use no traktion compound an the Track.
I will test at the weekend some set ups on the car and look then what happens.
I think it is to much carbon on the G4s tho evo is a litle bit easyer to set up with not to much tuning parts.
Sorry my Hometown is Germany and it not so easy for me write all in english.(its a long time ago i went to school)
The G4s is in germany a not so puplish t car and its not easy to get some Information about set ups.

Thanks for help
Marc

Marc your car is going to require a different setup if they spray no traction compound. I will work up a starting point for you today.

Danniz. The yellow spring is to stiff for almost all conditions. try 2 weights in the flyweights. the orange spring tightened to 2 threads showing and reduce the clutch gap to .2 total .1 shim with .1 endplay

Default G4's handling problems.

Marc what kind of asphalt are you running on. Is it really fine and smooth or is it pebble type rough. Also if there is no traction compound used you will have to soften the car up alot. Please post all of your settings in detail, and tell us what the car is doing.
Loose on entry, understeer, oversteer etc etc. We have to little detail to improve your car set-up based on what we know of your set-up.

I have heard that NiMo. Geesh that makes it a bit tougher! I have a hard time driving when the track has high traction!

hi
This is our Home Track:
http://www.rmc-dueren.de/strecke.php
Asphalt 0,5
traktion compound :not allowed in Germany
I hang on the set up at the end of the posting!!!
I set the G$s up like this.
Then softer springs on the front.....then softer springs on the rear......nothing.....more rear drop (0,5) then the car runs with Tires like 61/60 at the rear.
After 15 min running the same problem....the car was hard to drive.....after 30 min the car had no rubber on the Tires....
I run the evo with 37shore front 40 shore rear an 63 rear and 62 front so i can run a final from 30 min.
When i true the Tires to a smaler size i can go the speed the MTX 4 go it goes not with the bigger one.......shit
At the moment here in germany we have the first races and its not many griß on the raceways but in the summe it is better.
Iam looking for a set up i have a godd start with the G4s.......

Here is the set up:
Front width 199mm - rear width 200mm
roll bar rear 0 -roll bar 45
one way rear diff-15000
toe +1 rear toe -2
camber 1 rear camber 3
ride height 5 rear ride height 5
droop 0 rear droop- 4
oil 50 rear oil 50
piston 1 hole rear piston 2 hole
spring blue rear spring orange
tire shore 37 rear tire shore 40
diameter 60 rear diameter61
Orange 1.8 and blue 1.7
18 51 first gear and 23/24 47 second.
37front tires and 40 rears
the rear shocks down the front shocks up
front bar 0 and rear bar 45

Thanks for all
Marc
