any suggestions?
I believe they had this mystake in with the special edition too.

I believe you will end up with a measurement of between 46 and 43mm.
These measurements may alter though once you come to set the car up...ie setting the tweek of the car with roll bar fitted.

Check when you have fitted the bar that, with shocks fitted too, the bar does not foul anywhere throughout the entire movement of the rear suspension, set your droop screws low....about at 1 to 2mm first.

that measurment is 47mm. but dependant of your rear droop, it comes close to the top of the rear belt. more droop and a short link will touch the belt.

we have all been here before with this problem but its an easy fix!
ok take out you shoes from the housing and take it all apart!
now put it all back together making sure u follow the manual and that all is back together correctly, nowthe tension screws on each side of the shoes need to be equal on each side so you half screw in one side u do to the other now do them up until they cannot get any further in then back them out equally until u can use your finger tips to spread the shoes apart equally say 3mm both gaps need to be equal!! now insert your set screws this is for diametre of the clutch shoes place your shoes into the housing until it just touches the housing and it does not fit now take it out and screw these set screws ot a bit equally and put it back into housing it should just fit a spin freely if not repeat! now put altogether make sure you have the shaft pin in behing the shoes give that a go, you need to set up with adjusting those tension screws on where and when u want the 2nd to engaged!

Hello sonyb and welcome to the G4 family.

I don't have photo's to explain, unfortunately, but I will try my best.

There are four screws on the two speed shoe assembly. The set screws need to be set so as the shoes are very close to the shoe housing, but not touching. Being brand new, they may not be perfectly round at the moment so they may just catch in one place, high spots. This should be ok for now. The other longer screws, as you probably know, adjust the change up. IE: the amount of revs the engine gets to before the car changes to second gear.

Turning these screws in, both the same (!!), will make the car change up higher in the engines rev range, screwing these out will make the car change up earlier, at lower engine revs.

Now you need to find out if the car is in second all the time, or first gear all the time. You'll probably best notice this from running the car. If it sounds as though the clutch is slipping and the car doesn't take off very fast but is quick at the end of the straight away. Your probably in 2nd. If it takes off well, but doesn't go as fast as the other cars by the end of the straight away. I bet your in 1st.

Once you know which gear your in all the time, you can adjust your change up screws accordingly. 1/4 turn at a time until you hear it start to change.

Then go to 1/8 or even 1/16th turns to get it just right.
Note here: Make sure your engine is tuned well. If you start having to mess around with the tune of your engine, this can throw your change up out too !

Hope this helps.

Lol.well noticed razzor ! Although I looked and I did put in the "r" when I tried to send the email.

I've since sent it again and it went through this time. But thanks for the heads up though.

Are you still running your G4 these days Razzor? What do you think of the new, shorter chassis and rear end this time round?

I feel like yourself and a few others have been around this car for ever!
Will be having another go with it this year, although not as much as I'm going to try some off-road this year. lol

Default G4S Shock Bladder

Hi Guys,

I have accidentally damaged one of the shock bladders. Can I change to another brand of shock bladder or do I need to get the original? I am thinking of changing 4 of them if I am unable to get the original.

If other brand shock bladder, what brand is recommended?

Thanks

try to get the Kfactory blue shock bladder, they are a bit thicker and less likely to turn inside out as well. cant remember the part # sorry.

Mugen Blader (MTX4/MRX4) works great.
