Default G4+ Special Edition

For those guys in the U.S who thought all the G4+ Limited Edition cars had gone.............

There is one for sale at
RC Track,
Gaitherburg, MD

Call: 1-301-417-9630

Sale fell through yesterday so it's up for grabs again. I think you'll have to be quick.

Best of luck

Hi on my g4s the 2nd speed clutch is giving me some grief, for some reason I was adjusting the screws that screw against the metal roller inside?DOH, anyway I now have found the right screws to adjust, has anyone got any suggestions on where I should start with the adjusting screws should you be able to pull them apart (2mm approx?) with your fingers as a start and adjust in or out from there, and how tight should the other screws be that screw down on the steel rollers inside the clutch?
thanks
Michael

Hi Michael

Good to hear you have a G4. Welcome to the family!
The set screws which screw down onto the rollers are for setting the shoe clearence to the housing.
Screw these equelly, each side until the shoe's just catche on the bell when you insert the shoe assembly into the two speed housing and try to spin the housing.
Then just back off the set screws a little each side until the shoe assembly does not catch the housing anymore.
The side adjusting screws adjust the change up point of the two speed. This is very much a trial and error adjustment.
REMEMBER: Only set your two speed when you are happy that your motor is running correctly/ tuned and that your clutch is working ok.
Remember also, the further the adjusting screws are screwed in, the later the change up to 2nd gear will be in the rev range.

Hope this helps.

Default Clutch Assembly Question

Thanks for your previous replies gansei and Zoom.

I'm assembling the clutch that came in my G4S kit and have a newbie question. The instructions on the K-Factory website warn me not to over tighten the flywheel nut (I'm assuming they're referring to that long nut with threads on both the inside and the outside?). How tight should it be? I have a torque wrench if anyone has a spec - otherwise, I'll take what ever explanation I can get.

Also, it's not clear how many of the flyweights I should put in the shoes. As I understand it, for tracks that need 40 Shore tires, I need one additional weight. Does that mean 2 weights per shoe? If it's at all relevant, the kit came with a yellow spring. Thanks.
