All in all I walked away very happy with my new ride.
The 800 pack will improve with cycling it a few times. Takes around 5 or 6 cycles to get the best from it.
Take Bucknuts advice and check your end points carefully especially if you run digital servo's!

Good to hear you did so well.

Look on Raceday hobbies site. They have a new 1100mAh battery out now!
Mines in the mail. Should take car of those hour long mains.

The ridge on the support plate can also be made smaller, I sand mine down to 1.2mm (from about 1.7mm I think) this will give you the option to run the clutch shoe for a lot longer.

I run the Red shoe, I dont know if this will last longer ?

My Clutch shoes will last at least 2 or 3 nationals, if you are using too many then something is not correct, maybe too much slip........

For me there is nothing wrong with the UFO, at our nationals, no car has a better clutch, and the Kyosho drivers are now using the UFO clutch too !
Also I dont have a problem with excessive wear on the pinions, if the mesh is correct they should last fine, the UFO is probably the smallest and lighest race clutch on the market, putting heavy steel pinions on it kind of defeats the design principle.

With my G4+, it came with a thicker clutch shoe, and the support plate ridge already smaller, so these should give you what you want. I have not tested the new shoes yet, but they may need slightly more weight behind them as they are quiet a bit thicker, hence heavier.

Good Luck.
hi daz..

i tested your several clutch setups from 3hobby,rctech,TeamMagic site.

But i did not like your clutch setup.

i feel clutch slip much.

i appealed shoe wear out problem.. But opposite to my opinion you did not appeal shoe wear out problem.

is it cause ground grip(resistance ) status different? (you and me)

korea circuit ground temperature is about 55-56C in lately

asw7576(Indonesian) also appealed shoe wear out problem
(Indonesia jakarta circuit groud temperature is over 60C)

Low traction conditions. Front diff is heavy. Maybe 100,000WT or solid spool.
Rear oil is light. Maybe 5 or 10,000WT oil.

I hope this makes sence.

i think that it is formulas rule... But exception alway exist...

2nd,3rd ranking car used front spool in last year JMRCA.
(in very high traction)

1st is Fukuda(MTX-4) But he used oneway..

lately... japanese driver like front spool..

hurukawa Ken Also start setup by front spool.

the fastest man in the world Bertin also show awesome driving in last year FEMCA 2006 by front spool

i did not have his setup..

kitade(Knack Boss) also used front spool..

kitade got 4th ranking in JMRCA 2006
(But he used front oneway.. and he was ranked 2nd postion before 2 minutes race over.. But he was passed by two front spool driver in last 2 minutes)

kitade is also A-main Driver in 2003 1/8 IFMAR WORLDCHAMPIONSHIP

he made a shock for front spool..(with shock tower.. only MTX-4,RRR)

shock for front spool had smaller capacity than normal shock.

so it can help more quick, fast response..

pls take a look this picture.(right is shock for front spool)

you can get kidate setup sheet in http://www.knack-racing.com/

But it wrote by japan language.. so i can't understand.. ^^

Very identical to MTX4 shock ( the left ) : shock body, top and bottom plastic connectors, silver ball connectors.

BTW, Anyone can make similar shocks ( like Gansei's ) with MTX4 spare parts and reuse G4S shock body and piston shaft :
H0867 : silver ball connectors with 3mm hex
H0555 : complete set for MTX4 suspension connectors ( top and bottom )
and Grub Screw : 3x12mm

( Don't have to copy ) : Mine is using Mugen parts for top section and Tamiya parts for bottom section. Why am I using Tamiya parts for bottom section ? Mugen plastic connectors usually hit the inside tyre.

( You can agree or disagree .... it's okay ) : Some of you said there is silicone leak and need to glue the membrane to bottom of top connectors. Some said if tighten too deep, the membrane will be displace. Why ? because the bottom of G4S's top connectors has very thin lip that can properly hold the membrane.

Please compare the bottom of top connector from G4S with Mugen, you will see the difference. Mugen's bottom top connectors have full lips that grip the membrane very well. G4S bottom's is just the opposite.

The track was tight, high traction, smooth and clean. My best set-up was with 50K rear diff and spool in the front. 42 front and rear with even tire wear after 20 min main.
