I heard a rumour that the new sedan coming will be in fact a nitro car. I heard it from a friend who is in R & D for another RC company. He said we should see a new G4 version by next year. It is however just a rumour at this point so take it with a grain of salt and dont quote me on it. He has however been pretty well in the know as far as advancements with Team Magic go.

Since gansei posted the numbers I've done some research and so far I could only find rear and front belts from these manufacturers

BANDO
synchronous timing belt 6mm wide 3mm pitch
70 T front P.N. 210-3M-6XP

OPTIBELT
synchronous timing belt 6mm wide 3mm pitch
70 T front P.N, 210-3M-HP6

well keep doing some research, I found a place in the states that sells them but they are in inches and the closest i found was 4.7mm width same amount of teeth but a 5.11 inch length pitch! i dont think those will work.

is pitch the same thing as pitch length cause this place lists pitch then at the end pitch length. they have a 2.032mm pitch and a 5.12inch pitch length

here is the place.

Zoom: Why don't you come to FEMCA ? It's only 4 hours flight from Perth to Jakarta.

There are 4 seats STILL AVAILABLE for 1/10 class.

Australian can get Visa on Arrival. There is a booth with " Visa on Arrival " sign, you can see the sign before the immigration / passport control.

I'm just asking...........

stick with the std TM low friction belts, with proper belt tension they will last as long if not longer than conventional rubber belts.

Reinforced urethane belts like the TM ones have have less friction, better heat resistance and do not stretch nearly as much as rubber belts do. The only thing you need to watch for is teeth stripping off the belt. Aside from debris in the drive train tooth stripping only occurs under hard braking when the belt tension insufficient.

Rubber belts are naturally more forgiving in terms of belt tension but also heat up, stretch, and increase friction. The heat built up and stretching that loosen the belt can also result in thrown & snapped belts.

I bought a G4S RTR earlier this year and is about to roll it out on the track for the first time soon and i noticed one thing in the manual that comes with the car from TM.

It doesn't say anything about breaking in the engine, have they done something new with it or is it still recommended todo a break in even though the manual just say, start the car and race.

Best Regards
Marcus

mtveten, but I found a place where they make urethane belts reinforced with kevlar or fiberglass for $2.80 a belt!

if I can find measurements that work wouldn't these be nice substitutes?

Bud make sure you run in teh engine or do at least a half dozen runs with a rich setting and gradually lean out the tune to race pace.

Yeah, i will do a break in of course, just wondering why TM seemed to ignore that info in there manual.

Wonder how many that follow there docs and runs it at full speed directly without breaking it in!

Thanks!

That would be marvellous! However, back here in reality, I can't afford such a trip. I am making preparations to go to the Australian Nationals in October in Victoria. That will be my first big away race. If I had sponsors, I could get them to fund my racing but that just isn't going to happen Nice thought though.

I have noticed that the magic seems to have a perfomace advantage over the Kyosho on low grip & bumby tracks that seems teven out as conditions improve.

Mark ~ What brake pulley are pinions are you referring to in this post?

Thanks
