yeah nova make a great pipe, lil weak tho. but personally i dont like the idea of running a different brand pipe to the engine, looks a bit iffy.

I was thinking ...

That after I finish up the engine KB and start putting together a foam tire KB, I would start working on something for the G4S. Unfortunately, my first inclination is not to put together a hobby grade KB for the G4S, but rather a very focused commercial grade site to answer two fundamental questions, "Why should I get a G4S and what are my options if I decide to get one?" IMO, the Team Magic and G4 sites don't answer these questions very well. It's just way too much info, spread everywhere - with too much marketing fluff and not enough substance. As it is, it can barely hold my attention for very long (That's why I probably missed that thing about the Novarossi engine. ). Why should I click on another feature, just so that I can read "because it's cool", "nice and shiny" and "fits our style?" I just don't get that approach. Maybe something is lost in translation.

As I spend more time in this thread, follow the racing adventures of gansei (which I really enjoy, BTW) and pay more attention to how the G4S' performs at events, I can see that the car has a lot of potential - but I don't think that once someone becomes interested in the car, that the Web sites are persuasive enough to convince people to buy it. I think it's doing the just the opposite. Maybe it's just me.

As I was going through the G4 site tonight, I just started getting pissed at it - much like getting pissed at a RRR after stripping another phillips head screw. That's why this is probably coming across as a rant.

In any case, I just wanted to present the idea and see what people have to say about it. No sense starting something if you guys think I would just be wasting my time. It wouldn't fall under NitroKB.com, as that would just defeat the purpose of the site - so some type of new domain name would have to be created. Would be good if you guys could say, "Just go to blah-blah-blah.com to learn more about the car."

Well, let me know what you think. Good, bad or otherwise. I won't be offended. If I do work on something, I probably won't start on it until June, so that is more than enough time for someone to come up with a better idea, decide that they want to do a G4 site themselves or convince Team Magic to fix their Web site.

P.S. Why does Kyosho sell the RRR with phillips screws anyway? Does that make sense to anyone?

TM Clutch spring problem..

it was easily tweaked.

if spring tweak, the shoe wear out unbalanced.

so i am using kyosho RRR spring(FM432), But i will try Mugen 1.9mm spring.

the photo show the tweaked spring.

left is maybe serpent's spring (not sure),

middle, right spring is TM 1.9 black spring.

I have never seen a clutch spring of any brand with a bend in it like that. Do you think maybe the spring was damaged in your big accident?

My opinion is that there are already enough sites to look up. From here to 3hobby to the TM website and a few others. As I say, just my opinion as you asked for opinions

I think your other sites have been a success since there was no other single repository for that information, whereas we already have a few for the TM products.

Again, just my 2c worth.

Hm.. I just checked the nitrokb.com site out for the first time, and it looks really good.
No I do not think it would be a waste of time to build a site with organized information about the g4s. I think its been long overdue. Yes I think most of the useful stuff we learn is from actually building the car, running it, then racing it, (and friends) but it would be nice to have a good looking, easy to navigate database.. No I am not saying that this thread does not contain excellent info about the car, how its doing, its setup... I check this thread daily at least 3 times a day. I just don't think everyone has the time to scroll through 200+ pages of posts to learn about the car.

I do agree with you on the G4 or team magic site. For the longest time it just wasn't working right, but when they finally got it to work right its not very user friendly and has too much unusable stuff... and sorry, the english used on the site is terrible... It has all the information and its updated with race news frequently, but it just feels so disconnected.

Just my thoughts..

Marcus from 3Hobby here...

How has the clutch behaved with the RRR spring? I do have the RRR spring and may test that one before I buy a Mugenspring if needed.

Knowledge base for G4S with specific sections would be great idea. I hope it is up and running before I finally purchase one (if not next generation car ??). This thread has been a fantastic boon for Team Magic and without it I would have gone RRR or NT1. It's good to see passionate hobbyists from around the world help each other out. Re igniting an older issue, Team Magic invest some money to the regular pro racers who have promoted your car at their expense. More promotion = More Sales!!!!!

RRR spring did not have tweak problem..

but it was shrinked to 9.5mm from 10.00mm (new one)

i think mugen spring will be also shrinked in long time use.

but i will test mugen spring compare to kyosho spring.

Ok, I found the Mugenspring and ordered so now I also have the option to use either that is the best. I know that you will keep us informed with the results of the testing Gansei.

Ive stripped two of my engines and had a look at the black clutch springs.
They are not tweeked at all.
But i will be getting the Mugen super hard spring again as it worked well when i tried it.At the previous nats i helped a fellow G4S driver out and buit hes clutch for him with the Mugen spring and ED tranny.
Hes car has been going exceptionally well.

rmdhawaii i think you have a good site with info thats to the point.
Would be great to get a G4S site together and have all the info collected so its not so spread out between sites and different forums.
Between RCtech and 3Hobby there is plenty of info to put a site together.

I might just look at adding a G4S section to my site.
At the moment its a bit dissapointing that there is more hype and following of the M1-B buggy.
