hi zoom,

that weather sounds very very nice, if its dry here its usually cold (6 or 7C!)
4th one will be tough, it seems to get tougher each year !
i would love to come and race with you guys, its quite tricky to get let in to oz though !
not sure on worlds yet, but if not then probably come out for a holiday anyway, and will try and bring my car this time !

good luck with the house,
Darren.

Hard to get into oz? Is that because there's so many of 'your kind' here already? The other day tickets went on sale for the ashes and here in Perth they wanted to make sure the members got their tickets 3 hours before the rest of the population so we didn't end up with 40thousand of the Barmy Army in the WACCA! he he.

If you come for the worlds, let your sponsor know you can get a cheap pit man 4 hours by plane is almost local!

Make sure you bring your car or at least your controller so we can get you racing this time. The wheel really didn't help your driving

Cheers,

Mike.

Default G4S............

Hi Darren,
You probably don't remember, but I used to race with you when we were in the 'Rubber' series in England................ ??

Well..... anyway. The G4 has come along way since we first got our G4E (or was it the C ?
What are your first impressions of the G4S? I like the new weight distribution, seams to help settle the car in either turn.
Do you think we'll end up cutting the front track width to gain more steering as we did the E and Evo?

The link is Team Magic's and will work for the G4 or any other 3 hole clutch housing. I am sorry I am not sure if the Kyosho has a three hole clutch housing, if it does then my Team Magic will work for you. I have them in stock presently. Someone on here should know.

Hi Tony,
sorry i dont have a good memory for names, but id probably recognise you if i saw you !
how does racing compare were you are now?
First impressions are very good, for me one of the best bits are the bearings, if you clean them out the car is real free. also the chassis/braces eliminates any tweak, this is a massive improvement in consistency of your settings.
as you say the weight distribution is a good improvement too.

i never got round to trying the narrow front end on the old car, as i had already shortened the wheelbase on the rear by 2.5mm (by trimming front of rear wishbone, then adding spacer between roll bar mount and backplate. then adding appropriate spacer behind ball stud on hub.) i think the wheelbase really helps the car to rotate on tight hairpins, have tried it on the front as well but i didnt like that as it seemed to rotate after the apex.

at the moment i have SWB on rear, and the front track width is 197mm (with a solid axle in the front), but the track width does make a good difference, even just 1mm at a time. so i will try 195mm, but it may be too much with the SWB as well.

there is another setup sheet on 3hobby if anyone wants a look:

Kyosho tool will not fit, Kyosho pinions are larger.
Serpent toll does not fit, Serpent Pinions are smaller.
I picked up the TM tool 116055, it is made for the TM clutchbell/Pinions and Spurgear Nut.

Default Improvements.........?

Hi Darren,

Good to hear your staying with the G4.
The racing over here is ok although around where I am right now, Midwest America, there is not so much of a following. So I have to travel quite some distance.
Are you still getting sponsership from MicroTech?
I think the G4S will prove to be a considerable car this year. Its getting its first magor debut over here at the Winter Nationals down in Florida.
We'll soon see how it fair's.

I would like to see a couple more improvements though, maybe for next year.
Longer front wishbones, shorter wheel base by the sound of what your saying would probably improve the car's rotation around corners. But also, raising the bottom hinge pin location at the rear to try to elimiante some of the roll that we have so much of at that end of this car.

What do you think?
Do you use the stock shock pistons Darren, or the K Factory option ones?

Nice to hear from you Darren

Tony

Default how are they doing?

Just wondering, does anybody have any info on how the G4S drivers are doing at the Winter Nats? Hopefully they put in a real good showing.
