Well Darren thats part of it. yes you will need the chassis because the hole moved. Then you have to have the new chassis deck mounts for the deck and servos becaues the holes for those have moved and the servos are moved rearward. If you don't move the servos rearward the steering bellcrank will crash into the side of the servo case. (its not a trim it and it will work) Then you need the new upper carbon deck to match the new deck mounts. you need the new battery and reciever tray because the new chassis eliminates the old place to mount the reciever so you have to move to the new location. since all that moved the rear side braces got shorter and are different so you need those.

So you need everything Darren mentioned and what I mentioned to do the minimal job. This is the delimma of the upgrade kit.

Think you will find the actual street price to be from $389 to $400 depending on your favorite place to shop.

Listening to the guys that have their G4S is geting me excited.... need to ship orders today and then play!!! May borrow and engine and run this car this weekend since mine is not here as yet...........

Some of my friends prefer to convert their car to the G4S as they dont want to have two cars and its pretty hard to sell the old car since they're already fully optioned. So I try to make a list to convert the old G4 to G4S.

114043 6v-800mAh NiMh special size pack
114044 Special receiver battery pack wire set (w/mount)
116135 3x50 adjustable rod (2)

502262 G4 Servo Mount Set or K14104 G4 ALum Servo Mount
502263 G4 Radio Plate Support & Receiver Battery Mount
502265 G4 Alum side plate (pair) or K14105 G4 Carbon Side Plate
502266 G4S Chassis
502267 G4S single bell crank steering system
502270 G4S receiver mount
502271 G4 new upper bracket or K14107 G4 New Front Upper Carbon Bracket
K14102 G4 Carbon Radio Plate
K14104-1 G4 Carbon Transponder Holder

Am I miss something??

yes that is the minimum to get the steering converted.
I would also add the rear sway bar as part of the conversion as the old one had a pocket that was way to shallow.

I believe I would start with www.racedayhobbies.com or www.gasrccar.com if it were me looking for parts. But then, that's just me.

Car breaker all the parts are not available yet. most of them but not all. probably by the third week of feb we should have everything. I hope it does not sticker shock you as I am positive it is going to be around 180 to 220 for all the parts.
see ya all when we get back from the fort.

Back again

Just a general R/C Racing question here.

How do you guys get the tire life in a 30min race from 61mm tyres?

Are you running a smaller but harder compound tyre?

Would a smaller but harder tyre offer faster lap times vs a softer but larger tyre?

E.g. 62mm 42shore vs 65mm 37shore

Cheers

I didn't expect lower then that. I was assumed that the price of convertion is arround 200. only if I ma richer, I will buy a new car, but now I am broke, the only thing I can do is convert it.

If my friend can give me the money he ow me for his Mongoose thatn I might be able to buy or convert my car (he need to give me 262)

hi lycan,
i usually start a 30 min final, with about 62 to 63mm rear tyres, and maybe just a grade harder than in qualyifying ( if necessary). i think the most i have ever worn them is about 6mm on the left rear, but the right rear never wears as much (on our clockwise tracks).
the only thing you need to watch is that you have enough ride height at the end of the race !

Hi car breaker, when you get the money together write me at [email protected] and I will do my best to help you get back racing. I understand broke and wanting to race. This hobby grabs you! However that is a good thing!

Hey Daz, thanks for the info. I guess the thing that makes buying a new kit so expensive is the cost of the UFO clutch which I already have. I'm building a house this year so funds are are a little tight for the next couple of months. I don't get to convert my money from pounds to dollars

The weather here is great as always. Between 30 and 34C for the last couple of weeks. Racing started again last sunday so it was good to get back into it.

So you up for a 4th championship over there this year? Or are you going to come and race down here?

Thanks to all the people that posted about the parts for conversion. I think I'll just have to suck it up and buy the new kit when I can.

Cheers,

Mike.
