I do envy you Razzor.
To have such facilities all-be-it 8 hours from you. Wow!
There I would like to race! Maybe I could come to a race meet one day.
Suprise you Razzor

Menace

Just out of curiosity. What gearing is usually ran there on the G4s?
Do they use the 17/22 Pinions (ED)

Thanks for the compliments guys ,will pass it on to those responsible for making and maintaining the track.

The track has some nice passing areas the main ones being the bowl at the end of the straight ,the following hairpin and a tight line out of the following bowl into the middle straight. The hairpin at the end of the middle straight is always fun especially under pressure and if you run deep the guys get you bad
The bowl just after the start straight is also a good spot especially if you on a guys back end and he wants to get away ,they normally run wide leaving the door open and you set up for the chicane into the back straight.
Love this track ,really has a bit of everything. Also the bus stop just before you enter the start staright is only used for 200mm and takes some getting used to.

maybe something of interest to you guys.
In September there is a international off road meet called the African Cup .Just before or after this event there is a onroad African Cup/national event. There is a open invitation to all overseas drivers who would like to join for either event.Accomodation provided so you only involved for plane ticket and spending money.
Would be awesome to get some of you rock up.

The event is held at SA's largest rc facility called TRAP www.TRAP.co.za
This years dates will be up soon.

Thankx for the info man.
Dude, here is a picture of the different blade type sway bars I found laying around. I took measurements of everything for a comparison. I looks as though they will all work even though the length is shorter on all of them compared to the TM. However, they all have larger diameters on the end that goes into the swaybar mount itself. So you would need to tap out a larger hole on the G4S swaybar mount. This would be very simple to modify.
Ok, here are the specs of the 4 different sway bars that I found. I also included a "stiffness" rateing of 1-10 with 10 being the stiffest. This was sort of a ball park to help you understand the different swaybars better. The stiffness test is with the bar being in the flat position. Make sence?

1. G4S:
Bar with BALL length= 44.50mm
Bar with Cup length= 45.30mm
Diameter for hole size = 2.50mm
Inner cup diameter = 4.53mm
ball diameter = 4.49mm
Stiffness factor = 3.5 (soft)

2. Serpent:
Bar with BALL length= 40.90mm
Bar with Cup length= 43.06mm
Diameter for hole size = 3.45mm
Inner cup diameter = 5.99mm
ball diameter = 5.97mm
Stiffness factor = 7.5 (stiff)

3. Mugen:
Bar with BALL length= 41.5mm
Bar with Cup length= 41.45mm
Diameter for hole size = 3.0mm
Inner cup diameter = 4.97mm
ball diameter = 4.87mm
Stiffness factor = 7.5 (stiff)

4. NTS3:
ar with BALL length= 42.00mm
Bar with Cup length= 41.65mm
Diameter for hole size = 2.95mm
Inner cup diameter = 4.98mm
ball diameter = 4.95mm
Stiffness factor = 5.5 (Medium)

Well there you go guys. I hope my description of my measurements made sence. All I can say is that the G4S swaybar is the longest and the softest. It's not the extra length that is making it soft either. This puts the leverage even further out putting it in an extra soft catagory when attached to the car. From the looks of things, the Serpent looks to me as the best alternative. Mainly because it has the longest or deepest cup which will help for the compensation of the total length of the sway bar. However I will plan on trying them all out for a "static" test to see if the mod can even be done properly, which it looks as though they ALL can. I will keep all posted with my tests. Hopefully I might get to try out some track testing for some dynamic tests to see if this is even feasable in the first place. I have just ran 1/8 scale for so long that I much more prefer the blade type sway bars. Your pit man can tweak them in seconds for imediate results, and I have ALWAYS noticed a difference with a slight sway bar change. OK, enough rambleing. Tell me what you guys think even though there realy isn't much to go on right now. Later to all my G4S racing bro's!!!!

By the way I did two photo's because I wasn't sure which one turned out better. But they are of the same thing as you can tell.

The Mugen look to be a better option to fit directly into the sway bar holder.
Too make the sway bar a bit softer would grinding it a bit narrower help.?
Ill order a set of Mugens to try out.

Razzor, to be honest, if you try the Mugen I don't think you will want it any softer then it is. Once it's on the car, I think the flat position will be plenty soft. However, if you did want it softer I am sure that grinding it down would would give you a softer result. Just a little trial and error. That's where I am at.

Dude, by the way thank you for the invetation to race with you down in South Africa. I've never been there, or even near that part of the planet. That would be killer. What would be totally sweet would to be able and run at both races if they were close enough together. Either way I would love to run at the National event with you bro. I'll have to keep this race in mind for sure!! Again thanks for the heads up and invite my friend! Later razzor!
