Anyway, as far as your question in regards to your receiver pack, there are a few so called methods. For starters, think of your pack as a maximum of 1 hour of run time with a full peak charge. Hence why you can have a 1 hour main. However don't push the one hour out of your pack unless it is a main.

I always start the day with a full pack. In the morning after "practice" is done whether it's 2 or 9 tanks, I top of the battery for the heats for the day. Then after 3 heats I will top it off again for the main. Doing it this way, I NEVER have to worry about running too low.

However there are small volt meters so to speak that you can connect to the receiver to monitor voltage. They are small and shaped like a rectangle. They are about 1.5cm x 4cm and fairly flat. They have about 8 green led's and 3 red led lights. I have used them in the past for my airplanes. This is about all I know of for actually monitoring the votage while attached to the car. They weigh almost nothing, so weight isn't an issue. But if you just pay attention to how many tanks you are running, you really don't need a monitor other then paying attention.

I would suggest to put some sort of rubberband or something around the throttle of the carb. I actually use these little black or clear hair ties. They are like very thin rubber bands, but much stronger and the fuel doesn't hurt them. I have NEVER had one break. You do need to tripple them up to make them shorter if you know what I mean because of there length. This makes them "shut" the carb to idle just incase your Throttle rod ever came loose or broke or any of the thinks that can go wrong. I have seen it happen plenty of times on other vehicles, and has even saved me more then once.

I'm not sure if I answered your question, but this is what I do and have NEVER had a runaway ever in over 8 years of racing every form of nitro vehicle. The best of luck to you my friend, it sounds as though you are off to a GREAT start!!!!!! Your USA support friend...

Excellent you have made me rest at peace now, will use that rubber band trick as i do notice when the ball cup comes off the throttle the sleeve of the carb does push forward, so i think thats wise move.

As for the monitor of the battery, i gotcha, will invest in a decent swallow charger and possible that L.E.D light.

Your Australian friend
Frankie....

Kodak my friend, here are a few pics of what I was trying to explain to you with the volt monitor and hair ties. I put the hair ties next to some smaller rubber bands to give you an idea of size along with the companys name to help you find these. Plus a pic of one installed on one of my engines. I found a few battery monitors after digging around some. The picture shows two different ones, these would plug into channel #3 or if you only have a 2 channel recevier, then you would need a "Y" splitter, Hope this helps some. Later bro!

Hey D, still looks like you havent been able to run the G4S yet, how close weather wise is it, to being able to run, or start racing ? i know its cold as there, i have some friends going over there for a month, so they are expecting some very cold weather. hope its not too long before you run. and sounds like you have another Aussie friend, in Frankie (Kodak).

Gansei thats not new its what used to come on the G4e/Mongoose .The swing rack steering system was good and smooth from what I heard but the current system on the G4S replaced the swing rack system and is preferred by most drivers that have run both cars.

Careful! He might just want to add some fillings onto your car instead!

First G4 came with a sliding rail steering system, which had it's share of problems (binding of plastics on rails)

Then the G4 Evo came with the swing rack steering system (which you are showing), which worked well, but didn't have enough Ackerman.

Then came the G4S with the current single bell crank steering system, with lots of Ackerman and more steering than previous models. The option for this system is an adjustable bell crank arm…read here
