Know how you feel... this is one of the reasons i have changed brands for 2007. I got sick of ordering from overseas as they don't give a shit about you and the money you spend with them, you are just a droplet in a pond to them in their eyes...

Nobody locally seemed to have parts, not like they do for Mugen, Serpent or Kyosho anyway

Bundy, I know you weren't happy with the deal you ended up with.

But locally here in Australia, all the parts are available ex stock from the distributor and there are various stores that carry the full line on the shelf. With the distributor having them ready to go, any hobby shop in Australia can get anything you need the next day (HEI uses a brilliant freight mechanism from their sydney operation, where we even get them next day here in WA).

So I don't think anyone should be put off by myths about supply. If you expect every hobby shop to stock every part for every car, this isn't realistic. I know I am often an impulse buyer and will buy what is in front of me at the LHS so in a way, I am glad they don't all stock what I shouldn't be buying! For my racing, I have an inventory of spares that I might need while at the track the same as I would no matter what brand I run. That way I know that if I use something I replace it and I'm not caught short.

Cheers,

Mike.

Good to see you still online... thought you might have run away

My LHS can get parts through HEI, but they are not interested in keeping another brand on the shelf which is fair enough. Depending if the hobby store get to order it straight away or is the supplier has it, i have never found the process very smooth.

I work in retail so i know how it goes on both sides... And as a result have chosen a different route.

Having said all of this, i still have the car and you never know i may use it again. A friend i race with also still has mutiple G4's but i will think he will change shortly for the same reasons i have.

Wish you all the best in 07 and i am sure you will stir them up in WA

Thanks Mike
I printed out what you wrote up a while back and finally got to seat down yesterday and figure it all out. Thanks for the great write up...

One more thing i think you can help me with.
When you are tightning down the clutch spring what exactly do you measure? Just the threads that are showing?

Hey Guys, Ok 1st round of South Australia 1/10th Rd Started today and it was a strong field of 10 competitors.... 2 x TMG4S were listed and did well early in the morning then had just small technical probs as they where new cars and the little fine tuning still needed to be sorted.

Here are some pics of the day, will have some footage later in the week.....!

Hey Champ, there where many Kodak Moments but not from meeee..... My car is not yet ready to run as waiting on parts and more inmportant MONEY $$$$

The 2 G4S on the day are locals here and have been racing for about 2 years etc....

1 of them as spoken before is GasCar_24 & Toy000 - they both did very well at one point they where running in the top 5th and then had there minor glitches to send them back...

Never less they had very little testing time, and i can see a huge progress out of the new kits.

I sure am looking forward getting among them all very, very soon.....

I found that the serpent balls fit perfectly in the eyelets of the TM shocks. I then use the short MTX rod ends on the bottom with the MTX-4 lower shock collars. That way, I have all the adjustment I need and can use just about any brand of spring as well.

Cheers,

Mike.
