Hi all, I'm the proud owner of a new G4s and wanted to drop in, say hello and ask for some advice.

I've read through this thread and the G4s thread on 3Hobby and have compiled a list of all the build tips - a big thanks to all including Motorman, NiMo, Muppet Racing, SeprentD, Razzor, Shufflerbot and G4Ser. I was hoping however to confirm some thinking on initial build and setup.

Clutch - Is the orange spring with 1 additional weight still considered the bst starting point for a medium to low bite, tight track layout? Motor is a JP FX12-03M.

Shock assembly - Tamiya red foams on top of the bladder, toss the o-ring, with the bladder glued to the eyelet?

Front diff - hold off on the oneway/spool and use a gear diff with heavy oil, up to 100,000 weight?

Also, if you were starting out again, what options would you add at the start, leaving out the obvious ED Transmission and Quick release front end. I was thinking more along the lines of captured ball ends v's ball cups for the steering and rear upper link, alloy middle mount, hardenend pins and linkages - those sort of smaller refinements.

I think I'm pretty straight with all of the other suggestions - great summary by Muppet on 3Hobby by the way - I just wanted to confirm the above before I start building.

Cheers all, and big thanks again.

Hello,

I acquired TWO, brand new, new in box, Team Magic G4S car kits through a trade for a Playstation 3. I'll post these up on the For Sale threads later with pictures, but I thought that some of you might be interested in these. They are NEW, Still sealed in the packaging. I opened only 1 side of one of the boxes to take pics of the internals and make sure it's all there, but other than that, never touched. I know they're around $400 new in the stores and I'd be willing to sell them for $250 shipped here. Let me know!

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Teehomo,

I think you got it all worked out !

That Clutch should be fine, just dont go too big on the gap, max 0.6mm.

Linkages & ball cups are all fine in the kit, the rear top link ball studs need a little polishing, but thats about it..... You have to work very hard to bend a hinge pin, I still run the kit plastic middle mount.

Out of the box the car is a already a high spec, the options are there if you want them, but the car that won the Euro's was a G4S just with the ED !

Good Luck.

Thanks Daz, I'll build it the way it comes then. Unfortunatley I have to wait until Christmas day - it was actually a present from my wife so it is currently sitting under the tree. Ah well, there's always the cricket to fill in a bit of time

Ive tried to fit a Li ion park flyer bat that I use in my 1/8 buggy but its too big.
Have been thinking of a LiPo cylindrical bats ,need to find out if they can take the abuse.
