Pattojnr & Zoom:

Thanks for the imput, i will double check i haven't done the pivot ball retainers up to tight on the knuckles... but maybe i have to be patient and wait for everything to bed in nicely

I have radio tray in now... engine tomorrow & linkages etc. should be right to run the engine in on weekend if all goes well etc. burn some rubber then

Default MTX-3 or the G4S

Guys,

I have been to my LHS and somebody is selling a Mugen MTX-3 with engine and Pipe, the engine is Collari LC.12 motor with half gallon through it. and he is offerring $350.00 for it. I told him that I am in the market for a belt car and thinking of getting the G4S and I told him to hold it for me for like a week and let me think about it.

What do you guys think, should I get the mugen mtx-3 or stick with the G4S?

Need your opinions. new vs new!

Thanks

MTX-3 is a good car but it is OLD. unless he sell chassis alone in dirt cheap, else don't get it. it is because you cannot trust people on used engine unless you know him well enough.

G4S rocks, I recommand it unless you don't mind MTX3's parts will slowly fading out of market and have the car dirt cheap.

I would suggest an OS 12 TZ if you are starting out. This engine has great power for the money and lasts well if looked after. For pipes, I would go with either one of the following:
Mugen 2501
Skyline VR12+
JP 2620 with a novarossi short conical header
OS T1040

They would all be a good choice of pipes.

Cheers,

Mike.

hmm just wondering, why lots of people with many different engine recommend skyline vr12plus pipe?
is it because that pipe work well with many different engine?

The skyline pipes are excellent. If they were legal for racing here in Australia then I wouldn't run anything else. In the USA, the pipe only has to comply with certain dimensional specifications. In Europe and Australia the pipes have to have an approval number (usually from EFRA, or FEMCA).

Until skyline gets an approval number then I can't use it for sanctioned races so I just don't use it at all.

If you're in the states then it's game on.

Cheers,

Mike.
